Winter Time Fun!!

This is how I'm spending my winter I love living in the South!


The past 2 weeks have almost hit the 80's and it may have today.

So for the past few days it's been raining like CRAZY here. Everything's getting flooded, power's out in some places, and yesterday everyone using Indianapolis Water had to boil their water for 3 minutes before using it. (We use Lawrence Utilities & have well water, so we didn't have to.)

So we had a 2-hour delay in school because of this, and they turned off all the water fountains, had signs EVERYWHERE (including on the chem lab sinks and in the bathrooms) saying "DO NOT DRINK THE WATER" as if you'd drink from the bathrooms or chem sinks anyway. So everyone thought it was ridiculous that we had school yesterday (the only reason we had school was because we're on block scheduling and it was the last empty green day before finals start). It? Was a catastrophe. Lunch was horrific, it was all leftover stuff from Thursday and they couldn't serve salads or anything and they were giving out free water bottles (and there was a huge snafu over whether to charge for it or not, and the principal didn't even KNOW we had water bottles).

In short, the weather's crazy.

Last night, there was freezing rain. Which turned into snow.

I hate this state.

I love snow, it's the most beautiful thing. Sigh...perhaps, I need to move to Indiana. LOL

I don't particualrly like snow...but me and my daughter Olivia (2 1/2) had a damn good time late last night playing in it! Didn't think to take pics though. She was so excited she didn't fall asleep till 11:30 last night. I think it's the first time she has seen this much snow and can realize what's goin on.

Isn't it beautiful how it stuck on the trees the way it did?

The flooding does suck right now. It's pretty bad, and it's only going to get worse if we get all the rain we're supposed to be getting next week.
