Me, too. I always thought it was "ever." There's no "T" sound for "Tara." Or an "S" for "Sara."

I think if you listen very closely it actually says "Lyndsey I will Love You Forever".....

I don't hear the "er" sound at the end of that damn mysterious word, either. I actually hear "...ara". The T sound is very faint, but it is there.

This is fun...

I must be really crazy, because I've always thought she was singing "era..." Somehow that always made sense to me: she's interperting the song by singing about an age that will never be again...Tango In The Night represented the end of an era, and everyone in the band knew so while making it.

It's not a hard "T" sound, no... but I have always been certain she's chanting "Tara" there.

Whatever it may be, the word she is singing sounds like "air-ah," and doesn't sound like "ehv-ah."
Maybe it's a shout-out to her favorite of Charlie's Angels: "Farrah... Farrah...."

Default Seven Wonders

I am on the Tara boat. You guys had me listening to this song all damn day because of this thread...(WISYA too) Anyway, I hear "ara" very clearly and I used to think she was chanting "Sara". I have decided it must be Tara! I say we bombard John with this question. If 25 of us submit the same exact question to the Ask Stevie, hopefully he will forward that one to her. (he did say she answers ALL the ones he forwards her.. soooo)

Isn't she singing Pharaoh? SW starts with that Egyptian type music, or at least it sounds Egypt-ish to me so it kinda makes sense. After all, aren't the sphinx or the pyramids part of the seven wonders?

Yeah, because we all know Stevie is a master at pronouncing words correctly.

To me, it sounds like "ev-ah."

The thing is though... whether Stevie is a master of pronouncing things correctly or not... the word she chants there has an "r" in it, not a "v."

If you're looking for precedence, listen to the way she says "never" everywhere else in the song... you can hear the "n" and you can hear the "v."
But the word she chants after the chorus clearly has an "r" sound in the middle, even if the first letter isn't entirely clear.

Now you see, I'd never considered pharaoh. That's perfect. I am now on Pharaoh Bandwagon. It's far more interesting than the others.
