I will add some love to the "When I See You Again" pot.
Her use of the multiple "whatsuhmattababies"..IMHO..was done to convey the confusion, anxiety, fear, trepidation, loneliness, sense of abandonement, sadness...and all the other emotions Stevie was feeling at that time in her life. She wanted "someone" to ask her if she was ok, to tell her she was ok, to reassure her that it would ALL be ok, to promise her that their dream was not over and that is would work out in the end. That is the one reason I like all the repetitive usage..because she had a reason for doing it. Her vocals are not croaky, IMO, but I do see how some people might not like them. I hear alot of vulnerability in those particular vocals... that is why I like it. Lindsey's part at the end totally makes the song for me, especially considering what the song is about. His use of the word "if" does have a big impact and I wonder if he changed it intentionally or that is the way Stevie wrote it? Everytime I hear WISYA..it reminds me of that time in the band's history, the turmoil, the sadness over Lindsey quitting, just the late 80's in general.
