I've always been impressed by the job he does with the Nicks Fix. And to me it was very cool that he was allowed to become the "official" Stevie site. He really deserved it, in my opinion. I've exchanged a couple of e-mails with him and he has always been very polite, very professional. I think he takes his work very seriously.

Re: Stevie--I love that she does as much for her fans as she does. I'll take her short little answers because at least they are answers. And I really like it when John posts the handwritten messages on the Nicks Fix from her.

I would love to see the last tourbook (it's the only Stevie one I don't own) that had the page on the Nicksfix in it! I did not know that--the things I learn on the Ledge. .

And on edit--I'm super-psyched about the Ask-the-Backup Singer thing too for some reason. .

I just wanted to say thank you for following up and sending out a letter to Nicksfix. We could keep the thread going for ages and just spun our wheels but you took the the next step and actually asked what was going on over there (Why didn't I think of that?) So thumbs up for getting to the bottom of it.

Wow Thanks for the pic. I remember Christine Kilger from many moons ago. I had no idea she was part of the site. I’ve never seen Johns picture but I think Johanna Pieterman has a drawing of him on her site. Thanks again.

Those that keep in touch with John. Does he do this in his spare time or is it a full time thing? I’d like to give him a call just to say I like the site but wouldn’t want to bug him if he’s busy with other things. Just curious.

Heck yeah. A few prank calls at 3am never killed anybody. The pranks would have to be Stevie related so think. He might have caller ID so I have to do it from a pay phone. Does he accept collect calls?

It's nice to know that Stevie's answering her own questions. It's not so nice to know that my question that I asked is 1 in 5000 unanswered questions. I still have hope.

Ill bet she gets a lot of long questions so maybe short questions in bulk would give you a better chance. Ask her “What time is it” 50 times a day. She might send you a Rhiannon wristwatch. I bulked her with a butt question and she sent me that a$$ hair I told you about. Haaaay I just thought of something. I wondered why this A$$ hair didn’t smell like Nag Champa. You don’t think John pulled one over on me and sent one of his hairs do ya?

Thanks for posting. I am curious...how many would you consider a "fair amount?"
BtflChild-I thought "fair amount" seemed an accurate assessment. If you have an exact number I can be more specific next time. Also, thanks for pointing out that I am consistent, i.e. digging out the quote about being diplomatically blunt and then following it up with an example. Nice touch!

IMO A "fan" expecting more from her than her music and NOT hoping that she enjoys her life spending her time as she wishes is
I simply thought an auto response might brighten the smiles of everyone who sends a question, not just those whose questions get answered. I have no expectations, simply suggestions on how to help fans who take the time to write feel acknowledged. Nothing would brighten my Colgate smile more than knowing Stevie is spending her time as she wishes. And with my suggestions she might wish to spend her time dictating changing responses to her e-fan-mail. Who knows?

I can understand why you would feel uncomfortable with the idea of Stevie and/or John reading that, but I just think it's brilliant. I laughed out loud when I read it because it is very obviously sarcastic, yet there is a genuine sentiment of admiration for Stevie as an artist behind that sarcasm. I like how you see her as a real person with just as many flaws as the rest of us but love her just the same. I know that shouldn't be so difficult, but there are so many people out there who think she's truly some kind of goddess we cannot touch. This will be even more cliche than the rest of my post, but I like how that post was very real. Sure, there are more interesting terms out there than "real," but I felt that one summed it up.

Thank you very much for that! I'm glad is doesn't just make me sound like a sarcastic a**hole! I'm glad you feel that way because that is really how I feel. It's almost like -in some twisted way- because we spend so much time talking about Fleetwood Mac and wanting to know everything little thing about them, that in some way we do almost know them. So therefore they are almost like family: we can love them but give them necessary ribbing from time to time!

Sometimes we all miss the obvious, huh?
