Default The latest Star Wars DVDs

Who has seen these dvds?

I'm confused about what they say in CNN:

http://edition.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/...rap/index.html

Oh, there have been some changes in the original trilogy. Creator George Lucas digitally cleaned up (or enhanced) the special effects, dropped Hayden Christensen into the conclusion of "Jedi" and raised fans' hackles by showing that Han Solo didn't shoot first. Indeed, "Star Wars" discussion boards have been humming for months about the whole concept of "Whose 'Star Wars' is it, anyway?"

What about that HAyden scene in "Jedi"? Does he appear now with Yoda and Obi (as spirits) when they buried Darth Vader??? Has anyone seen that dvd?

Yes, Hayden has replaced Shaw in the final scenes of return of the jedi as a ghost standing next to Obi-wan and Yoda. The commentary track explains that the dead jedi appear as when they were last "good" jedi, but this explanation seems to detract from Vader's seemingly important redemption at the end of Return of the Jedi and has caused many a fanboy outrage.

As much as I want to tackle Hayden Christensen and rip his clothes off... As a Star Wars fan, I think it was ridiculous that Lucas tampered with the film this way. It was just wrong!!!!!

I guess "A Star Wars Christmas" wasn't enough. George Lucas feels the need to f*ck up everything he touches.

Did you know they had a Christmas special in the works after the Empire Strikes Back, but it never materialized? I found this site on it: http://www.stomptokyo.com/movies/v/v...wars-xmas.html Just a random fact. lol To be fair he was not really that involved with the infamous 1978 "Holiday Special" - other than writing that lame plot!

Exclamation I heard Lucas...

wanted to alter the part in "Empire..." where Luke finds Vader is his father to having Luke find out his father was...Capt. James Tiberius Kirk, But Paramount shot it down!!!

Brian "Lucas-Wanted for crimes against original versions of movies" j.

ps-Did y'all ever see the South Park where the bys formed a club to keep Lucas/Spielberg from f**kin' up the original versions of their movies??? Spielberg replaced the guns in "Saving Pvt.Ryan" to walkie-talkies (LOL!!!!!!)...That episode was "Sad But True"!!!!

For f*cks sake, couldn't they just clean up the ORIGINAL films and release those? I hate these new and improved editions!!!!

Geogre Lucas - you stupid slob - WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU.

Hopefully Episode III is an improvement over II...that film was a travesty.
