oh. sorry to hear about your accident. You know if you are in another crash, that a bigger car would be safer, right? But i would feel the same way. I learned stick on my dad's 64 Buick Special, (3 speeds on the floor) and it does feel like driving a weird big swaying boat...
Maybe you should get one of those giant trucks that are like, 10 feet off the ground with huge car crushing wheels. Except, of course, you'd be scared to drive it...
I hate when people drive slow, especially between lights. I used to zip around obnoxiously in my little car. But you kinda have to do that here, and especially if you're driving in SF. Lanes disappear, the streets are narrow, busses smoosh in and out, bike messengers...you gotta be ready!

Actually, Beetles are some of the safest cars to be in if you ever have an accident. I can't do stick shifts, it takes too much work and attention away from the road. tried it a couple of times and got stuck on a hill.

There are so many accidents everywhere in MA that it freaks me out to even get out on the road. And people are such f*ckers that it gets to the point where you just want to go all Kathy Bates on them and crash into them repeatedly out of spite.

Oh my God! You're me! How cool. (Well, not for us). I really hate driving. I haven't been in an accident yet, but I've come close. I don't have a Beetle yet, but that's the one car I want. It's hard to be excited about it because I HATE driving with a passion.

Anyway, I know other people have real problems, but I have to complain about this. Some of y'all know that I've had a crush on this girl in my history class all semester. (Remember, Amber, you said she sounds like she looks like one of your good friends, with the curly reddish hair and the big brown eyes). She was gorgeous. And I could barely speak when I was around her. But she was very nice to me. Until about three weeks ago. She quit talking to me, and for once in my life, I assumed it had absolutely nothing to do with me. I figured she was going through some bad times--she had told me that there had been a death in her family. But she just left the final without even looking at me. And she hasn't looked at me or said one word to me for the past three weeks. A friend of mine told me after the final that she had told the girl I had a crush on her. I was devastated! Absolutely devastated! Sobbing and everything. It must have made the girl uncomfortable. I couldn't believe my friend told her that--she was the one person in the class I told, and I made it clear that it was a secret and I didn't want her to tell anyone! I asked her why she did it and she said, "I was curious to see what she was going to say." I felt like I was in high school, all that crap with people telling other people that other people "like" them. The chick needs to grow up. If Rebekah (that's her name) was going to know, I wanted to be the one to tell her. I wanted to be in control of the situation. I just wanted to walk away from it thinking she was flattered. Instead, it ended on a bad note. She won't even look at me!

This is what I ask of all of you. If you're straight and a gay person had the guts to tell you that he or she has a genuine crush on you and just wanted to let you know, please just be appreciative of that person's feelings. Tell him or her that you're flattered and appreciate his or sincerity and bravery even if you can't return those feelings. Make them feel like there was actually some little something to be gained from the embarrassment of such a confession. It could mean so much to someone to know that it wasn't completely in vain, to think that maybe confessing to having a crush on you might have made you feel better about yourself or something along those lines.

Okay, I just had to get that out. Thanks in advance to all who read it.

I drive a black ('the Death-mobile') 96 Nissan Sentra GXE that has survived a deer's unfortunate suicide to the front bumper & another attempted suicide by a coyote (Debbie-2 Wildlife-0).

People get scared when I step outta my car cause I think they expect me to be vertically challenged, I just love the looks on their gawd-ugly faces when I step out

I think any crush is flattering and I'm the kind of person that would go out with either sex for a nice night. Doesn't mean anything will happen in the bedroom, but at least you'll get some company and get to know another person.

Or you could just go the Bridget Jones way and tell them that if you ever flip, they'll be the first one you'll call.

aww, you really don't like driving... I hate automatics, cause i feel bored without that extra project. I really need my stick. It's a special fun challenge on the hills in SF, and on the curvy narrow hilly road on the way to Stinson Beach - that? Is my favorite road to drive, and i used to honk at slow people who wouldn't pull over in the pullouts (Hi, Diss! honk honk! )

Omigosh, that's a terrible story. I'm so sorry. I can't believe that girl told. If i was straight and had a crush on someone, i still wouldn't want her to tell!
But also, I think that since your "friend" told the girl, and not you, she probably doesn't really know how to have a dialogue with you about it - if you had told her, there would at least be a line of communication open right then. But your "friend" really botched this one. which is lame and unfortunate. I hope you kicked that girl's a**, even though i know you probably didn't. I hope you're doing ok.

*sigh* Breeders...the bane of homos. It's fabulous being gay, but out the gender population to which we are attracted, approximately 45% of them can't return the feelings. It is SO frustrating. Why oh why can't my apartment be filled with toasters?!?!

I couldnt empathise with you more..since my accident last month I am like a 90 yr old driver..ESP. in the rain! And you know what, if people dont like the speed you are going on the interstate, go around...I was never aware of the amount of horrible drivers out there until I had my accident...People on the intersate 2 weeks ago were actually getting up behind me and flashing their lights at me at night, because I was only going 65 in the slow lane, and the speed limit was 70

But we CAN'T go around if you're in the fast lane. Get it?(not you particularly) I have a friend who has rammed(bumped) people who won't get out of the fast lane.

Usually I dont drive in the fast lane...and if you are driving in the fast lane, and someone is not going the speed you desire them to be going , you ummm CAN go around them, get over in the lane to your right, and pass them...and why would you be friends with such an idiot?

And another thing...I LOVE IT , and it happens all the time, people pass me, because they are in SUCH a hurry, and it never fails that I like end up sitting behind them at a red light.....I really do not think it's that people are in a hurry, it just really bothers them to go slow...so ppl will speed, even if they wont get there any faster..kind of funny

True, for me at least. But i mostly hate slow people between lights, cause if you go faster, more people can make the light! duh!

Yes that annoys me as well..or people who go just slow enough when you are like trying to turn left so that you have to sit there,..and if they would just speed up a LITTLE.. the traffic on the other side of the road would be cleared at the same time as that side....you could go, sometimes i think they do it on purpose...you know?
