Why answer phones if you hate people?

Lol I'm sitting here wondering why people take a job as a secretary or whatever, and hate to talk to people..

This rude bitch on the phone today has really irked me! So I have to vent! Lol...How about I call the hospital to try to set up payments or something for my bill, and she says "So how much can you pay a month?" and I said "well i dont know, let me think." cuz I just had to think about it for a second... And the lady says "WELL WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME IF YOU DONT EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CAN PAY??" Some people....man...please guys if you hate people don't answer phones!

Medical people are the worst sometimes. One time I had to call the emergency room to tell them that the medicine they gave me was not working. The lady on the phone was like " Do you have insurance?" before I could even tell her why I was calling. I was trying to tell her why I called and she was asking me 'well, what kind?"
I was not happy and I was also still sick!

I hate calling them.

They really are awful. And of course it's when you're not feeling well usually that you have to deal with them. So you're extra vulnerable.

I had to change my patient number on file with my medical peeps from my social to the new number that *they* gave me. It just hadn't propogated through the system and I needed another branch to have it. Similar to what you were saying, Pattie, instead of listening to what I had to say the woman used her canned questions and stuff not listening to me. Then she's like, "I don't see this." I'm like, "Because you need to use the new number to look me up which is why I called you in the first place." UGHHHHHH!!!!!!

I would have FIRST asked in a nice voice for her entire name - then torn her a new one - then, she did not hang up, ask to speak to her boss and/or write them a letter. I do NOT put up with that crap EVER - period.
