I'm sure most of you have heard of the new book on Rumours by Cath Carrol. Well a few nights ago I was listening to a radio station for the Chicago land area and found out that the station was interviewing Ms. Carrol. One of the DJs was all for the new book and couldn't wait to get his hands on it and read it...the other said he couldn't stand FM and that he compared Rumours to the "Hotel California" album and said it was atrocious. He also said that Mick Fleetwood is a "pompous bafoon" and that he constantly brags about being a genious. Lindsey is a "sick and sad perfectionist". And Stevie is a brat because she loved to paint her hotel rooms pink. Hm....
Oh well. I heard the new book is supposed to be wonderful. Filled with new interviews from their tour wardrobe designer to their personal assistants! There are stories of Lindsey spending 3 whole days tuning a piano! New pics! I'm excited! ![]()

I can't imagine there's anything about the making of "Rumours" we haven't already heard... not even from a wardrobe assistant...

Nevertheless, if the book in fact concentrates more on the music than the love lives as reported, then I look forward to reading it.
Thanks for the reminder, Little Nicki, I'd clean forgotten about it.

What is the name of this book by Cath Carrol? I know we have discussed it before but the title escapes me.
I am sure the new book by Carol Ann will be filled with gossip, although that might make for an interesting ready. At least she might be able to fill us in on some first hand experiences.

I've read Cath Caroll's book-I've had it for a couple of months now at least--I ordered it off of Amazon or Books-A-Million.com--can't remember which now but they both have it. It's a good book. I'd recommend it. I did learn some things I didn't know about the recording of the album. And The Ledge is mentioned in the book as being an excellent resource site for all things FM (like we didn't already know that)! Let me explain here to that I'm no "casual" FM fan--I've been a fan since 1975 and in that time, I've read every book or article or interview I could get my hands on about them so I was pretty impressed that there were things in the book that I didn't know.

I'm just starting to read the book now... Just received it this week. Won it in a contest over at The Legacy. They are doing 12 book give aways over 12 weeks.
Don't think there are any NEW photos in it... But from Carol's perspective, it looks to be a good read. It's about 225 pages. |

She used a LOT of our Q&A w/ Ken Caillat in that book!!!! It was nice to get the little separate credit in the back though. -Lis |

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...864564-4763851 I agree with most everyone else about Never Break The Chain. It's a good, serious book. I actually learned a few new things, too. I recommend it. |

Everybody's talking about having learned a lot from this new book. I read it & didn't see the value in it. Can you be specific as to what you learned?

I just found the details intriguing, the 'minutia'. What they paid for certain things, little notes about how particular songs or parts were recorded, marketing strategies. Some of what Keith Olsen had to say was interesting. I'm not saying it was the most indepth account of FM I've ever read, just saying that there were people interviewed I'd never heard from before, and little facts that were new to me. -Lis |
