Black dresses and your shoes aggrivate me
You love only the goddiest things
I come running to your shows
You're drab...your consistant
With picking your dress with your assistant

Love that black dress
You can't say no
Running to that Margi
With your chiffon in toe

eh...all I got

after reading your parody I got the image in my head of "Field of Dreams" the movie, But it was rather a screwed up Stevie Nicks version:

"If you wear it...the fans will come (And bitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitchbitch about it)

I was hoping no one beat me to this

My Dress

Odors, and the first signs of wear,
Tainted my dress
As if some kind of curse washed me up
And it became... no lace, much shame
After all these years, it's still the same
It's no claim to fame

Well, my dress still reeks
When I stand before you
And my hip still aches
When I start to spin
And my pulse still stops
When this dress gets near a flame
Makes my butt look like a train

Corsets, like a vise to the waist
Bind me up tight
And the style fades away
I dress alone
Like nothing's changed
No lace, no shame
After all these years...
The dress is the same

Well, blackdress still hangs
When I stand before you
Like a mourning rag
On a mob widow
And my pulse still slows
When the dress gets near a flame
Makes my butt look like a train

Ooh, my Frankenbocks
Look like tires before you
Like cement blocks
When I trod the stage
And my pulse still slows
When Blackdress gets near a flame
It's flammable
Booty looks just like a train

Ok, with all apologies to dissention, I think I spoke too soon... Sparky, THAT was the best black dress parody ever!

OMG! I think this deserves one too. I might have spoken too soon but my twin separated at birth might agree.

I am in awe. If I had a uterus, I'd have your love child.

Sparks is one of us, rest assured. He can spew vitriol with the best (that would be me, of course).

Oh, the visual.

The flattery of all of this is nice, but I really just tossed that puppy off quickly. I was afraid someone would beat me to the punch. I will never be able to hold a candle to Jake's classic song parodies. He is the master. Where the hell is he, anyway ? He must be off teaching in some horrible place without internet service.

Okay, I went back to read this thread and you guys have me crying laughing with the song title stuff!!

Goodbye Baby is the break-up-with-your-significant-other service. They send out a gal dressed in Stevie garb to sing "Goodbye Baby, I hope your legs get broken...don't forget me....I'LL FOLLOW YOU DOWN TILL THE SOUND OF MY VOICE WILL HAUNT YOU, BEYOTCH!" as she twirls, does a high kick and casts an evil spell on them.

Going back in this thread a bit, more "Stevie" products:

If Anyone Falls medic-alert necklace
My Third Day Up diet pills
Crystal Visions, A Stevie Nicks coloring book of shadow-people and other hallucinations seen by people who stay up for 3 days or more
These Are Real Tears saline solution
"Straight Back" orthopedic tennies, as worn by Stevie on the SYW tour!

If there was a day I really needed some good laughs, today was it.
Thank you dear Ledgie friends for making me laugh so hard I started crying.
I just can't compete with all the poetry.
You guys should record these ditties and post them!!!
