Default Stevie Demo Question

So...

I have all these Stevie demos/outtakes that I've downloaded. The problem is, I'm not sure what I've got, or how extensive the collection is (not very, would be my guess). I see on some sites where they list the different boots (SaraRhiannon.com, etc.), that they have several different versions of the songs listed. So, how do I know which versions I've got? How do I know during what era they were recorded (and does anybody know, or are they more or less just guessing)?

I've never done trades or anything like that, so I dunno how all that works.

Anywho...I'd just like to be able to keep up with what I'm downloading and know what I've got and what I don't have. Any advice?

Sometimes we guess -- basing our assumptions on factors such as vocal style, instrumentation (if you hear a quintessential 1970s instrument, you know it wasn't recorded in 1985), clues in magazines & interviews ("Smile at You," for example, was mentioned as a possibility for the new album in a 1981 print interview).

Just ask here, describing what you've got as best you can, & chances are excellent that you'll get an answer. In fact, you may even get two or three -- contradictory -- answers.

www.geocities.com/the3birdsofrhiannon under discographies. The site has the running time of each demo/reel. It helped me out with putting a label on my demos. Some demos have a time frame, but sometimes it's hard to put a date. Also, demos circulate all the time under different versions. My version #1 maybe someone else's #4. You just have to label to your best ability and go by running order, IMO.

I had no idea she had such detailed descriptions. When I get a chance, I'm going to relabel my demos with the information from that site. Thanks!

The 3 Birds is a great useful site for the demos I think, it's what I use if I am confused.
