After listening to this over and over, I think this would be an excellent song to open concerts with. It just has that right tempo....not too fast, not too slow.

BTW...this Bombay Sapphires is freakin' awesome.

Thanks so much for sharing these songs with us!

My Heart is ok I guess. I think the melody in the chorus sucks - blech. However there a some parts I really love. It's kind of up in the air for me.. It's nice to hear though.

The alt version of Bombay Sapphires is so unbelievably better than the album version! I can't understand why they didn't use this one...

Besides for the terrible music, the lack of melody drives me bonkers (just like with Say You Will). It sounds like she tried hard to find one, but failed miserably. Maybe that's why it wasn't on TISL, she wasn't happy with it. I know I wouldn't be.

I LOVE Bombay Sapphires, but I kinda miss Macy Gray. It still kills the album version, though.

I like My Heart quite a bit, except for the very beginning "shaaadows...and the fiiiiiiiirst sign of life" I think the chorus has a nice melody and is very, very pretty. I don't like how stevie sounds on those stretchy notes during the non chorus. Sounds a bit of a struggle...
Bombay Saphires does sound better, that's for sure. It's not my fave, though. but i like it better *now*.
Oh, and my heart reminds me of a song that woulda been on OSOTM. that pretty, jangly guitar...

I was gonna say the same thing, but didn't want to start a war. Thanks for saying it for me.

The one single complaint you avoided lodging!

funny , those lines were my favorite part of the song "fiiiiiirst signs of light." Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess..lol.. Someone would say she never tries, and is lazy and doesn't even want to attempt any note that's relatively stretched if she had not done that..

Although I think most of the song is kinda boring, hence the reason it likely never made the album.

I just downloaded this (Thanks, Tiff!) and I have to say that I feel the same way I did upon hearing the initial clip . . . The lyrics are beautiful, but the music and Stevie's vocals could use some work, IMO.

I kind of like this song. It seems that they are really trying real hard to keep a riff going with that little bomabstic progression - definitely agree with the comment about it sounding a little like LAHGTP. Very much a hair metal binga-bam-boom-boom riff. I do like parts of the melody quite a bit, but it seems kind of 3/4 finished to me. Thrilled to hear it though.
I don't think that Sheryl wrote this music or produced it. Could be Mike Campbell, but not sure about that either.

Ahhhhh!!! I love this song. Finally something to listen to- this dry spell has gotten me down in the dumps.

I just love Stevie's voice. It is so unique, raspy, whisky, nasally and husky. I love Stevie's voice post-Enchanted the best. Anyways, this song is very catchy and would make a great single and opener for an album. In fact, wouldn't it rock if she made this her title track for her next album and "My Heart" came out this Valentines Day?

I know I'm a silly dreamer- more likely February 14, 2009!
