What are you afraid of?

My greatest fear is driving my car over a bridge and being trapped in my car and drowning. I'm terrified of water when I can't see the bottom. I don't get in the ocean much.

Very scared of fire & deep water - burning or drowning NOT the way I want to die, it's the whole idea of not being able to get air & KNOWING you're gonna die.

I'm fine with flying until about a week before I'm scheduled to leave (like right now - I leave for AZ next week, getting a bit antsy) then I start thinking about it too much & getting nervous, so I have to calm myself down. Once I'm on the plane I'm OK.

Bugs are iffy - I don't really mind the spiders in my house, they're not that big. I HATE those millipede things that show up in the spring & early summer around here - they run too damn fast. Those I get someone to kill right away, since as mentioned by someone else - if it gets away, I can't sleep. Oh, and my work is infested with cockroaches - GROSS! I won't go near them, and I hate that they crunch when you kill them (one girl went to step on one - I thought everyone knew if you did that their eggs will be on your shoe & you'll take them home with you. Apparently not.)

Most bugs don't bother me - as long as they're not ON my body. If that happens I will scream & run & shake all of my limbs in a freak-out dance. ICK.

I have a fear of flying. It scares the crap out of me. I picture all this crazy stuff in my head. The plane going down as I look at all the other passengers faces knowing not one of us could do anything to stop it. Very scary.

I have a friend with that fear. She has in her glove compartment a window punch and a seat belt cutter. One time her seat belt was getting stuck, where she couldn't get it unlatched, and she had to go across a big bridge. She drove across the bridge with the seat belt cutter in her hand, just in case! She's a bit of a safety freak in other ways, too....

I'm terrified of.....the Wicked Witch of the West. I HATE her. She's green, c'mon!! And she has a terrible laugh! I can't watch the Wizard of Oz without turning my head whenever SHE appears. I fault my mom for this. She should've never let me watch it when I was a mere 3 years old.....

My husband and step-son have lots of fun with this.


And snakes...rattlesnakes, copperheads, black racer, poisonous, non-poisonous, green, whatever. I hate them too. That's why I have cats. They keep them away.

I don't fear spiders much... Well, maybe if they're big I do, but the ones I normally see I don't. That one on Mikki's photo does look creepy.

Fears I have:

- death - not necessarily mine, but from loved ones;
- public speaking - I can't do it, I'm too shy and anxious...
- closed spaces;

And I'm sure I have more I can't remember right now.

I have an unhealthy fear of flying stinging things (ie: bees, wasps, evil looking stinging bugs...) and roaches (they FREAK me out)

Those, I think, are the only bugs I"m totally scared of...

In other fears:

house fire (seems like a popular one)
dying alone
being mugged or attacked
car accidents
