Please don't take this as a criticism of you, Susan, because I don't mean this directed at you. Not at all.

Your post reminds me of something that still saddens me about the fan club ordeal. Mr. Todd's obviously still in the picture of FM. I suppose it's exclusively due to ties with Mick not the rest of the band. Just because he's still involved I hope fans don't forget it was the effort of many fans who disagreed with Mr. Todd and his methods that ended his role in the fan club and brought about many gestures of good will toward the fans. Invitations to the Boston tapings and Lindsey's Soundstage were not mere coincidences. It isn't common knowledge either that specific fans who worked hard to bring club problems to the attention of the band did not benefit from those good will gestures with tickets to the tapings, or T-shirt give aways, and no Egyptian jewelry either.

Instead of personal gain, many fans worked hard to help the band keep a good reputation and help other fans get restitution after being ripped off by Mr. Todd. These fans have never asked to be thanked but I would like to offer my thanks to everyone who went above and beyond the call to expose some of Mr. Todd's tactics. If Mick is not cutting ties with this guy, I hope he's given him a good talking to.

GoldDustGypsy03, I want you to know Mr. Todd did right by me and gave me a refund when I complained about the fan club. However, I know a lot of other fans were mistreated, attacked, defamed, and lied about in order to cover his mistakes in mishandling the fan club. I hope those methods are a thing of the past. If not, Mick is heading for trouble. Yet he and everyone in the band is well aware of what happened and why. Sorry, GoldDustGypsy03, but comments like yours make me understand why guys like Todd can get away with what they do.

You have to realize that these guys probably get tons of emails from fans all over the world, quite possibly for the same reasons you emailed them. I don't think you should take it personally that JK wouldn't/couldn't help you with whatever it was you were asking of him.

Wow, long story lol Well my friends Sheena, Jen, and Jess; we had plans to put this 18x22 card together for Stevie(see pic on banner), a card to thank her for bringing our little group of friends together; we put some poems we made and songs for her, some for her lost friend Robin too ~ it took me since last Dec. till May of this yr to put the whole thing together, same with the card we made for John, the drums drawing I made for Mick, and this portfolio of poems we made for Lindsey... In the beginning, we had this friend named Joe, he was a security guard up in MI and he had told us that he could get his boss that at the time supposedly had worked for Stevie before and he said that he would put a phone call together with Stevie to find out if the band got the gifts, Joe had said that his boss got the call and that he talked to Stevie telling him that our gift made her bday and that she wished that my friends and I were her's; it was months and months that my friends and I believed him and we had been waiting for letters from the band like Joe had said would happen ~ they never did, and so then this MI show came up and it was where my friends and I, which I couldn't go along with Sheena, was where Stevie and the rest of the band wanted to meet us; we ended up finding out that Joe lied and he had been pulling our leg this whole time. It was hard not to believe him since he was one of our very close and best friends, it never occured to us that this would happen but it did; I had been trying to contact the band to apologize for all the crap that had been going on ~ how I had sent some emails to some official sites telling them that my friend Sheena and I wouldn't be at the MI show 'cause our group of friends had a fight, Sheena and I wanted to make sure that we wouldn't be left out with meeting them; I felt so stupid when I found out that it wasn't true and how the band prob thought I walked out of some kind of looney bin right? So i've been trying to reach out for help so I could explain all the crap that had happened since my friend Joe had also done something EXTREMELY stupid and called Lindsey's wife, no lie, I swear it, so I also wanted to apologize for Joe's doing 'cause I know that he won't do it himself but I can't seem to get anywhere...I really want to know what the band thought of our gifts 'cause it was all hand made stuff and it really meant a lot to us. But, it's such a long story and you would have to have known us the whole time to actually understand.

I skimmed through the whole JT thing today... It's amazing how many people banded together for that. I vaguely remember it while it was happening but I didn't understand it... I guess in this business, even if you're a fan, you have to watch your back and defend yourself.

I went back looking for this just now and I can't find it, and correct me if I'm wrong, but did someone mention in that thread that JT was the one responsible for taping all those video clips that used to be up on fm.com?

Not to disrupt your post, but there is always that weird line of "well, should i be mad cause he treated others shabbily?" It's a hard question, and normally, it's ok to think "no" but imagine if people had felt this way about racism? or gay rights? so, I am usually wary...nice of you to review all this for the newbies (of which i am one)

I don't understand the need to apologise to the band? I'm sorry you were lied to like that but I would doubt they know anything about your fight and the lie's your 'friend' told. I can understand it if this is what you were asking of John Kinney. I'm sure he gets emails all the times asking for messages to be sent to the band. It would be impossible for him to deliver them all.

I'm sure the band got your gifts and loved them. Maybe you could ask about them at John and Mick's Q&A sessions? I know myself and other UK folks gave gifts and made a birthday card for John and included addresses and none of us heard back (didn't really expect to either)

I don't know if he was taping personally but he was responsible for them.

Yep, and, personally, I already hate this todd guy... but at the same time, i'm happy if he helped someone! (gaw, can it be true?) but even if i meet him, and he is totally nice, i will still never forget his basic dishonesty, and money grubbing, and trying to play nice after he has already been an A**. so...that would be...in the back of my mind (inthebackofmy..)

Well that's not going to stop my friends and I from finding out what they thought, this was the biggest thing that had ever happened in our lives and we're very dtermined to make our dreams come true. And I do feel the need to apologize to Lindsey, I didn't make the calls but Joe did and I think that there has to be an apology; no one should be calling up his home like that AND I wouldn't doubt it if the band found out about some of the stuff.

Believe me, it happened; my two friends Jen/Jess were there when he did it ~ it was after the MI show and he called up Lindsey's wife, he said that he had been talking with a Kristen Buckingham and that she could get them backstage, K just said "I can't help you" and hung up; it was the # too.

I wasn't there, my friend's Jess and Jen were there; my friend Sheena and I couldn't go remember? lol But Joe had told them before he said he did lie a few days ago; he had told my two friends that he had been talking to Kristen and that she was the one that was going to get them backstage, so they watched and listened to him call and that's what happened.
