Well, it is not BS. That article certainly implies it. AND - I can promise you Novak would have said nothing about anything (on the advice of his lawyer) if he had not been asked to cooperate. Again, it is inconceivable that he has not been questioned in some way, esp. considering the WH sources are the target according to every article I have ever read and he was an eyewitness - he is a relatively small fish comnpared to say, Rove. And - when he says he refuses to give up his sources, to whom is he refusing? I suggest it can only be the grand jury as they are the investigative body - thus, they must have asked and they ask through subpoena. If not, please explain to me who he is not cooperating with? Is there another investigation?

Again, and in the end, it does not matter because getting the proof against him is next to impossible. I hope they do, but I know what it takes and I have seen nothing even close to it.

The prosecutor.

that is my point, once the grand jury was convened as the investigative body, the prosecutor uses it to get information. The prosecutor is not acting alone now.

Again, it is inconceivable that Novak has never been asked anything by the grand jury. If not, they are not doing there jobs and the prosecutor should be removed from the case. He is an EYEWITNESS to WH mischief for goodness sake - but I suppose you think that he should not be asked anything and I cannot see who you think he is refusing to cooperate with.

But, whatever.

Actually, let's not speculate anymore, the press has been reporting that the grand jury investigation is almost over. So, let's reconvene when it issues its results, if ever. I hope they mail Novak, but am worried they will never get the evidence to do it.

And according to what we've read, the targets of the investigation are rarely subpoened. I totally don't follow the argument that they'd have to indict all of the reporters that they leaked this information to. Only Novak printed it! There's quite a difference between knowing something and acting upon that knowledge. To further the argument, and muddy the waters a little bit more, prosecutors are able to prove all sorts of things. Hell, they can convict you of murder now without ever having a body--so why the hell couldn't they convict someone of revealing the identity of a CIA agent when they have the proof--Novak's own column?
