I guess, as we've learned in retrospect, she wasn't all that pleased with her then-recently finished album, but she was dying to get on the road & was quite the dickens, playing her keyboard & singing along on all these radio shows, joshing around with callers & DJs, etc. I hadn't heard her be quite so fun since 1986.

That was a personality high point for Stevie. Otherwise, she's been fairly morose.
I agree 100%. Some of those radio shows are classics. The Mark and Brian one is Stevie at her most playful. And the John Boy and Billy show cracks me up. They're so rude and she plays with it completely. She was great back then.

I haven't heard all those, but the 1994 Mark & Brian interview was really great, especially the Greta part. Some others more recent that I liked a lot are Letterman 1998, 2001 and on Destiny Rules her humour is one of the highlights, IMO.

I have heard her and her posse on the Jim Ladd show so many times. And those interviews were wild! They sounded high.

The lady next to me at the Los Angeles benefit even said (into my recording equipment): "Didn't she put a little weight on?"

From that point on, she never looked like the girl on the cover of "Bella Donna" again. Although there's another anomaly: the early part of the tour in 1990. How did Stevie look like an aerobics instructor again from the waist down (even if it only lasted for a few months)?
I know - I thought the same on this tour. I'd see them one night and then two or so weeks later she'd look larger. It was really weird. But, she has a tiny frame and she has said if she eats one wrong thing - watch out

Everybody was high in those days. A big CD-R compilation of all the Jim Ladd interviews would be a cool idea. As far as I know, Stevie did the following:

1976 with Fleetwood Mac
1979 alone (Fleetwood Mac two-parter)
1981 alone
1982 with Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac two-parter)
1983 alone (solo two-parter)
1985 phone call to Phoenix
1986 alone
1994 alone
1998 alone (with two rehearsal songs)

I was the one who taped both the '83 "Afterview" thing & the '85 phone call for fans' collections. Any more Jim Ladd on-air stuff?

Especially the Rock A Little one. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I think she looks kinda pregnant in this picture. But since it can't be that, maybe it's just a beer belly.

She always struck me as an Amstel Light kind of gal. Maybe that's what she's doing at the mic; she's not singing, she's belching. No wonder she sounds so deep!

She's also said that she sees nothing wrong with surgery and that if she gets really old and decrepit looking, she'll get surgery to look Chinese, change her identity, and live anonymously. I think it's refreshing for someone to be so honest about surgery.

But, I don't think the surgery is what makes her sexy and hot, it's her youthfulness. Which my dear friend sparky summed up PERFECTLY. An Debbie will be 60 next year. And has toured just as much as La Nicks.

Shall I list all of her tours? With Blondie, the Jazz Passengers, and solo? Her current one has been ongoing since '02.

AND - Miss Debbie not only did coke, pills, and booze, she was a heroin addict.

As far as post-production touch-ups enhancing her appearance... well, I don't doubt that either. But I also don't think it's as extensive as people make it out to be. More than likely done to even skin-tones, etc.

Stevie may be vain like the rest of us, but I just can't imagine her pushing for millions of dollars worth of re-touches... which is what it would cost to extensively re-touch a feature length concert like 'The Dance' or a feature-length documentary like 'Destiny Rules.'

I'm not saying that I don't think some scenes here and there aren't re-touched (I mean, it IS obvious, for Pete's sake)... just that I certainly don't feel it was done to the extent that is sometimes claimed.

And, I don't care what anyone says... here's an un-retouched candid photo where she's wearing low-key makeup, and this is a beautiful woman....

um, ok, but didn't she have an entire video scrapped and re-shot because it made her arms look fat??

True - but she had a hiatus for awhile while caring for the, I believe, guitar player. AND - if it is worth anything, her later concerts were far smaller than anything Stevie just about ever did. I can remember in like 1982 or 83 for the Island of Lost Souls (ONE OF MY FAV.'S) tour came to Baton Rouge, LA and the place was pretty much empty or at least it seemed that way because sections had no one in them. BUT - La Harry and crewe gave a GREAT show despite it!!!!!!!

AND - let us not forget La Nicks toured with Fritz and as BN - which takes us back to like 1970 Thus, I am unsure if La Harry can claim mor road time, but it is possible
