I subscribe to
People (have for over 10 years) Child Parents Mary Engelbreit Technically speaking, I guess I'd include the Journal of Court Reporting...it's included with the annual dues to the organization. I'm going to drop Child, Parents and Mary Engelbreit, though. But I love my People!!! Carol |

I don't have any subscriptions (though I subscribed to Seventeen and YM in high school and used to subscribe to Psychology Today and Poets and Writers), but there are a few that I find myself buying often enough.

Men's Fitness has it's moments - though they have started to slant into that whole "How to get the hot chick, How to deal with your woman, Here's a bunch of hot chicks and what they want" kind of articles. Makes me smirk and turn the page. That's why I ditched Men's Health. I think they are trying to compete with HMV, Stuff, and those other soft core porn mags. |

As far as meeting people - nothing yet - but I've not made any real effort - I actually found this group called RATS (Rochester Area Twenty-Somethings) it's a young professional group - they do community volunteer stuff, social night etc....it's for random young, out of college professionals...it is NOT a singles group lol...but I'm going to go to an event they're having this weekend- hopefully I'll meet some interesting people that way... I figure I have to go to the yoga more than once but eventually could meet people there - they all seemed like a neat group... How long have you been doing yoga? |

I have to keep up with fashion, so Cosmo, Glamour, Marie Claire, and Martha Stewart Living. I love to read music magazines too, but I don't subscribe to the ones I like. They are just too expensive to get every month in the mail. At over a hundred dollars for one year/per magazine, I'll just go to Borders and buy the ones I want. I love MOJO, Uncut, and Classic Rock. They're all British magazines. I guess that is why the subscriptions are so much!

ANY magazine that has ads for "man to man phone action", mail order butt plugs and vintage "man on man XXX movies" (HELLLL-O!) is just NOT for straight dudes. And yes ladies, Playgirl IS a soft-core gay rag. When all the models are gay, and the majority of the advertisements are gay, you can write off the commentary from the Editor and the horrible Harlequin romance masturbation stories. |
