I hate Krispy Kreme! I always end up throwing out the darn donut.
Give me Dunkin Donuts any day! You can't go by me because it's in my blood being a New Englander.
Having a large DD coffee right now as a matter of fact.

It seems most adults up here can't survive without coffee from Dunkin Donuts Thing is, I hate coffee. Maybe I'll aquire a taste for it some day.

ANYways, I don't really like Krispy Kreme either. Besides the fact that they taste like round sugar cubes, they promote bad grammar!

Is Dunkin Donuts popular everywhere in the US like it is here? Most towns in my area have at least one, and several have two or three. My father took an oath not to become addicted to the coffee, and now he can't start his work day without it. He tells me they put something in it to make it addictive...but that just means more doughnuts for us.

I don't eat donuts very often, but when I do, Krispy Kreme is NOT my choice. I, too, think they're overrated, but then glazed donuts are not my favorites. My favorite is a bavarian creme filled bismarck from Dunkin' Donuts. There is also a local chain here, Lamars, which makes the best donuts I have ever eaten! They have the BEST cake donuts, which I prefer.

NO! There aren't many DD's in Buffalo at all, actually a few just closed. Every time I'm out of town I go to DD, but only cuz there's nothing else, I don't think they're very good. We only have 2 KK's, though. We do, however, have a Tim Horton's on every corner (which has incredible doughnuts & even better coffee!)

I think they're only popular within a 10 mile radius of Stoneham, Mass.

In southern California...they barely exist...I think I've seen TWO in the area. It's Krispy Kreme all the way here (and KK keeps opening more locations)

Oh, and BTW, gimme a dozen Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled please.

Take it from someone who is from North Carolina, the birthplace of Krispy Kreme donuts, they are best when they are hot right off the line.

But my favorite would be the chocolate covered custard filled ones (aka Boston Creme donuts). Those are my fave Dunkin Donuts, too. And their coffee is off the chain! I think I will be well suited when I finally move to Boston.

Ugh, my and my diet were doing okay ignoring the donut talk until you had to bring up Lamar's! Now my mouth is watering thinking about them.

When I was a kid, my favorite was Winchell's- did you ever go to Winchell's? There was one right down the street from where I grew up and my mom would take my brother & I there for breakfast four or five times a week before school and on the weekends. I think they're all closed now. At least that one is.

I do love Krispy Kremes, though, but like everyone said- they're divine when they're completely fresh, but after- eh.

Sure H, I remember Winchell's and I do think they are all closed. Lamar's is still better, by far. And I'm on a diet too, so I'm feeling the "no donut" pain right there with you. There's even a Lamar's right down the street from me and I haven't been there since I moved back. It's taking some serious discipline!

I soooooo agree with you, Winchells ruled!! We had one right down the street from my house and like you, me and my mom would go there before school and get donuts and milk all the time!

I'm not such a big fan of Krisy Kremes...BUT I also have a strange aversion to businesses that spell things incorrectly haha...

But the first time I tried a KK doughnut..I thought it was great - so I ate two...and got sicker than heck...it was gross....so I tried another a while later and it was okay..nothing to write home about...

I'm a Dunkin' (this is okay- they shortened the word rather than mispelling it) Doughnut loyalist....I like them best...

Only they spell Doughnut "Donut"!!! I like DD's chocolate creme filled, which is pretty sick since the chocolate creme is probably sweetened crisco with cocoa in it. I've only had Krispy Kreme 1 time and they were good. Some DD varieties are good too, but I think they tend to be really heavy. I always feel like I have lead in my stomach after I eat one.

Yeah, I remember Winchell's!!! It was a Sunday morning ritual when I was...oh...3-6 years old...Dad & I would go get donuts...(devil's food with chocolate sprinkles was my fave...STILL is my favorite NON-Krispy Kreme type of donut)...then we'd go to Long Beach Airport and sit on the benches of the observation deck just below the control tower and watch the planes come & go. (I had this obsession with airplanes back then)

There are still a FEW Winchell's left around SoCal...but they're VERY few & far between. And, they're independently owned & operated, not like back in the ''50's/60's/'70's when they were all one big chain & were on every-other street corner.

I, in Cali, haven't seen a dunkin donuts. but there may be some in more strip mall suburban lookin towns...Of course, I can't go around the block without hitting a starbucks. But i'm glad to trade dunkin for the, like, 50 yummy mexican food place within walking distance of my house Plus, we have fresh donut places, so...and i'm sure Krispy Kremes are good hot off the pan...my mom used to make doughnuts at home sometimes, just in a frying pan like moms in the fifties used to, and they were AWESOME!!!!!
