Actually, I like that idea a lot. I'll keep a running commentary on the game. Tainted as it is, it will need someone to keep it honest. Here's my first report:

As of now, it seems the game has once again fallen into complete disarray. Jacob has now voided yet another round, this time to save Beautiful Child from the grips of oblivion. Sources tell me he caved to pressure from the Stevie fans who, having lost Sara early on, were out for blood when Beautiful Child lost fair and square, and decided to do everything they could in their power, even voting in absentia through the man running the game himself (!!) to reverse the fortunes of Stevie's songs and manipulate the outcome to their liking.

It is unclear at this point, since Jacob has failed to articulate it, whether the Over and Over round is invalidated too. It is complete mayhem, dear listeners. No one seems to know which way is north and right from left. Jacob's rulings have been so odd and inconsistent that a fair number of players have lost confidence in his ability to run the game and have started to drop out. And who can blame them? So it appears that the Stevie fans who pushed so hard to sway the game their way will prevail after all, but it will be a tainted victory, of that there is no doubt.

So, dear listeners, we await further word from Jacob on just what is going on. Is the Beautiful Child v. That's Enough For Me round still on or did it expire at 9 Eastern? If so, this poses very serious questions because the European players never had a chance to vote in the runoff. But if it is still on, when will it end? And does that mean the Over and Over round is voided too since the game has now regressed two rounds backward? And will there be a regular round concurrent with the runoff round?

Too many questions. Not enough answers, dear listeners. We remain baffled by this odd, and questionable, turn of events.

Signing off, this is CarneVaca, yours, reporting from the Ledge.

If you're interested in making me happy, the solution is simple: Validate the Beautiful Child and Over and Over rounds, and resume the game. Nothing short of that will make me happy.

Sodascouts, it's not a tantrum. I just agree with CarneVaca that the person running the game, no offense, but he can't really be trusted anymore to run it fairly and properly. Sorry, it was a lot of fun up till now. There was a lot of strategy that made the game exciting. It was even fun when songs I wanted to keep were lost because the game was so dynamic.

I don't have as much time as some to post on these boards all the time, but I was making it a point to drop by everyday to see how it was going and to cast my vote. Now my heart is not in it. I know Carne likes controversy, but I can't help thinking he is right on this one. Jacob's made too many mistakes. Who's to say there won't be more? All the mistakes are making me lose interest in what song wins. I just don't care that much about it, unless somehow the game is salvaged from the mess that it became.

Maybe someone else should take over, or someone should start an alternate Tusk Surivor game. This one is broken, big time.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but this doesn't make any sense at all to me. How can you go back to the Beautiful Child round and still keep the results of the Over and Over round? Don't you think that if the results of the Beautiful Child round are changed now because of this runoff, which I think is a really bad idea, it puts all the results of the Over and Over round in question? Don't you see that if TEFM had been voted off in the Beautiful Child before that the next song off would probably have been Beautiful Child and NOT Over and Over?

If you go back and look at previous results, you will see that a song that got a lot of votes in one round but did not get voted off was immediately voted off in the next round, which makes sense because the players would keep voting for it until it's out. Now by redoing the BC round and keeping the Over and Over round you are doing something very unnatural that not only makes the Over and Over round very questionable but also has repercussions for future rounds. I don't see how you can carry on this game fairly after redoing the BC round.

But anyway, I'm out, and before you remind me of that, I will take my leave of this thread. Unlike Carne, I won't stick around to do commentary although I do think I will check in periodically if his commentary is as hilarious as the first report he filed already.

Good points. Jacob is taking the "back to the future" approach to running the game. Or like in "It's a Wonderful Life," you know when the angel shows the Jimmy Stewart character what life would have been for others if he hadn't existed. Now here we have a situation in which we are supposed to go back in time but let a future dimension, i.e., the Over and Over round, somehow stand untouched, something that would have been unquestionably impossible in a quantum-leap kind of situation.

Besides, Jacob, I find it very odd that you have called your own decision on BC "unfair." So are we to believe that you can be fair now? You say you made an unfair decision, but you want to retain credibility as you stumble forward with this game?

I intend to. My second report:

The wait continues.

As the midnight hour approaches, Jacob has yet to clarify how long the controversial, and some say unfair, BC runoff round will last. It remains unclear whether players outside of the North America will have a chance to cast their votes. As it is, with some players vowing to bow out of the tainted game in protest, the future of this competition looks murky at best.

As of now, the votes for dropping That's Enough For Me far outnumber those for Beautiful Child. And since this runoff was concocted to run while non-North American players, who earlier cast votes for Beautiful Child, are unable to vote, one wonders if the timing wasn't intended to keep them out and assure a victory for the supporters of Beautiful Child.

Indeed, suspicion runs rampant and questions remain. But no word from the man running the show.

What will happen next? Will this game go down as a failed experiment in cyber competition? Or will someone step in to finish this race?

Stay tuned.

I said I was leaving the game, not the thread. Besides, didn't you just step down?
