Default Do you sing along with the band at the concerts?

Do you?

Also, can people hear fans when they are singing to the music? It seems so loud that no one could here you unless you completely belted out a song.

Yeah, I do sing along. I've tried to tone it down a bit after seeing the Stevie Boston '96 boot & hearing people sing in the audience louder than she did.

Not to mention they're ridiculously out of tune & I'm well aware that I can't sing, so...

I definitely find myself singing all the words, especially the new songs. The band (especially Lindsey) seems to like to see that

Well...in Calgary as many of you read the sound could have been a little louder to the point where I mouthed pretty much all of the words to all of the songs because I wanted to hear the band more than I wanted to hear myself sing

Definitely! It's so much fun. I try not to be to loud on quiet songs though.

Definitely! and I have a boot concert where you can hear the audience singing and I think it's cool, personally...

Yup, I sing as well. Lindsey does seem to totally dig the audience singing with him, especially to the new songs. I think its kind of cool during Landslide when you can hear the entire audience singing with her. Do you think Stevie likes that or not?

Personally I'd find it annoying IF I could hear it. You see I play on a worship team at my church so everyone sings along because that's the point. If my ear monitor is just right then I can usually block everyone out, but if it's not quite right then I can hear the congregation and there's always just a little behind where the team is so it's distracting. Stevie has much nicer ear pieces than my team uses so it may not be that bad.

I wish I could BE in the band and sing. :P

I'd die if I could take Brent's job... besides, I could do it better than him anyways...

We talked about this in a thread back in June from the 2004 Houston crew, but we were there singing along with Landslide, and right at the very end as she's singing "Snow coverrrrrrrrred........." She completely stops with a HUGE smile on her face. She threw up her arms and looked out and said "And you can sing, too!!" Then she looked over at Lindsay in disbelief and laughed. Then she turned to us and led us all with a pretend baton in singing "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiils. Then a landslide will bring it down." Afterward she was still beeming and shouted "That was just INCREDIBLE!!" So yeah, I guess she enjoys hearing us sing.

Ah...I believe you were introduced to that humorous horror by me?! HAEWAFY is especially a gem. There is also someone who repeatedly whispers, "Bless you Stevie, bless your soul". It's a little freaky and it cracks me up every time. (Sorry if you're here, but it never ceases to entertain me.) Remember, though, that you can hear them so loud because the VCR mic is right by them. If Stevie could hear them, it was probably not well if at all. Also we are typically not quite as close to the stage as those particular audience members were (due to the type of venue). The band has their ear monitors as well, so I doubt they can hear any one individual. Somehow, when most of the audience sings along (ie GYOW), it sounds pretty much on-key as a whole even though you know at least 1/2 the audience is probably off. I think the band would rather see that we know every word (especially to the new songs) than have us worry about how we sound. I think it's a given they want us there to forget our troubles and have a good time, not be self-conscious. Hopefully I am right about all of this, because I find it physically impossible to restrain from singing along, unless I lose complete conrol of my jaw and it is hanging to the floor ("Sara" 2004 ). I just know the songs SO well, that I do it without even thinking.
