I think we need a revision from you my friend. "Running Down a Dream" is an 80's song and you listed "Fight the Good Fight Twice."

As for the rest, we sure have a lot of Zep fans. It's surprising how varied people's tastes are. I wonder if there is some thread of commonality that runs through your choices? If mine has one, it's probably the use of harmony vocals that suggests a Beach Boys influence.

I had to idea about runnign Down a Drain. And Fight the Good Fight was listed twice not becuase It's my favorite of the bunch, but because I'm an idiot. But it's good cause that freed up some room for one more song. I added Free Bird.

Geez, how could YOU forget David? I thought he meant something to you! I'll be back for my two cents.... and you know Bowie will be at the top of the list.

This is just an "of the moment - off the top of my head" list.... there are far too many great songs from the 70's (the best decade music ever had) to list. Besides, I'm intentionally leaving FM off the list cuz this is in "Chit Chat"

1) Blue - Joni Mitchell
2) Just the Wine - Heart
3) Company - Rickie Lee Jones
4) Pretty Maids in a Row - Eagles
5) All is Fair in Love - Stevie Wonder
6) Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight - James Taylor
7) Kings and Queens - Aerosmith
8) Patiently - Journey
9) Ten Years Gone - Led Zep
10) For the Roses - Joni Mitchell
11) The Last Time I Saw Richard - Joni Mitchell

Nice picks.

My list, in no particular order...

The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys - Traffic
Lawyers, Guns and Money - Warren Zevon
Pretty Maids All in a Row/In the City - The Eagles
Have You Ever Seen the Rain - CCR
Ten Years Gone - Led Zeppelin
Accidents Never Happen/11:59/Fan Mail - Blondie
Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
The Wild One, Forever/Hometown Blues/Refugee - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Dream On - Aerosmith
Straight On - Heart

There are many more that I forgot, but it's the best I could do at almost 1:30 AM.

that must suck to have the first song on your first album be your pinnacle

Default 70'3 top ten and Supertramp

Supertramp fans: If you haven't heard the album Crisis What Crisis you must get it. It's awesome. I LOVE Supertramp and the Logical Song is one of my favorites.

Now, 70's songs:

Carole King-Jazzman
Captain and Tennille-Muskrat Love (really this is America's song, you know)
America-Ventura Highway, Today's The Day, Daisy Jane
Led Zep-Stairway to Heaven, D'yer Ma'ker, Going to California
Jim Croce-Time in a Bottle, I'll Have To Say I love You in a Song
Art Garfunckel-Disney Girls, Breakaway
Elton John-Benny and the Jets
Cat Stevens-Moonshadow, Peacetrain
The Carpenters-Close To You
Gilbert O'Sullivan-Alone Again, Naturally
Beegees-How Deep Is Your Love
Bread-If
Doobies-What a Fool Believes

There are lots more-I can't remember the names of them...the 70's rocked, that's what I remember..
