1)TISL: it's the first of her solo CD's I've bought and I find it incredible
, for its variety, actuality, emotional strength, production, vocals and the amazing, breathtaking quality in songwriting. I'm even starting to like That Made Me Stronger... 2)Bella Donna: her legacy, a stunning self-portrait of an eclectic and inspired artist 3) The Wild Heart - The production leaves me cold on a couple of tracks, but masterpieces like Enchanted, Beauty And The Beast and Stand Back outnumber by far the small defects. 4) Tie - Rock A Little/The Other Side of The Mirror: Iovine and Hine clearly believed in the elegiac powers of synthetizers, and I don't, although many of the songs rock, and some of the lyrics are among Stevie's best. I'd like to hear them with new mixes and orchestrations. 5)Street Angel: Her most discontinuous work, and the production is often senseless, but her voice is so beautiful and tracks like Blue Denim, Greta, and Rose Garden are classics for me. I've never heard Street Angel or The Other Side of the Mirror. I'm really curious about TOSOTM, though. I love Rooms on Fire, and one or two other songs from it that I've heard. I saw it at the used CD store by my house, but ended up buying Elvis Costello instead. I may go back by there and get it.
Anyway... 1. Bella Donna & Rock a Little (tie) 2. Trouble in Shangri-La 3. The Wild Heart (a distant third...like I've said before, the only songs worth hearing from this album are on Enchanted, in much better-sounding versions). |

1. Bella Donna: fantastic beginning with a perfect album. There's not a single song that I dislike in here (except for "Outside The Rain" maybe), and I think the production suits all these little gems so well. Precious stuff.
![]() 2. Trouble In Shangri-La: The other album of hers I consider "fantastic". The fact that it has the title track, "Planets Of The Universe" and "Fall From Grace" all in one place says it all, really. 3. The Wild Heart: Tried to follow the Bella Donna sound, and was succesful in that... I think it lacked some of the strength of the previous one, but still a great album. 4. Street Angel: Yes, there's "Love Is Like A River" and other stinkers, but "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind", "Rose Garden" and "Blue Denim" are three strong favorites of mine. 5. The Other Side Of The Mirror: "Alice", "Juliet", "Rooms On Fire"... Although I don't enjoy the overall mood of the thing, these three songs and others totally save it. Although it includes my least favorite of hers ("Whole Lotta Trouble"). 6. Rock A Little: This would be the only one I truly dislike. Ohhhhh... no, I've got problems with the production, really. Only song I like is "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You", and I don't think it really fits with the rest of the songs on the album. Title track is good too. Should Timespace count? If so, it would easily be my least favorite since the 'new' tracks are simply awful (although I have to confess that I'm a fan of the 'bitch' song, "Desert Angel" is just plain terrible).

Oh yeah I love Desert Angel. Actually I think I love all 3 new songs on Timespace, but sadly i never listen to Timespace so I don't ever hear those 3 songs. But Desert Angel and Sometimes it's a Bitch are great songs.

Other than that part, the song is greatness... and I've actually made myself an edit of the song where I omitted those two lines. ![]()

The idea of Stevie possibly singing about Poise pads kills me.And you're right about the words...my god. Poor thing, it would have right in with Street Angel.
