I don't know what to do for next vacations (late september).
I have invitation to Miami, no, err... actually Coral Springs, northwest form Fort Lauderdale (would be my 30th time in Florida) And friends in Rosarito and Tijuana, where I would visit also San Diego (I'd arrive to LA o SD, don't know). But I'm not convinced. It's nice San Diego. What places do you recommend there? And what about Tijuana area? Have you been in Rosarito or Ensenada? Unfortunately last mac concert is sept. 14, and I don't think I can be in US by that date. My vacations should be for the third or 4th week of september |

I've been to San Diego twice, and it's an absolutely beautiful city, Villavic- especially if you go to Coronado Island and stay at the Hotel Del Coronado
![]() San Diego's beautiful. The park & Sea World are the two main "touristy" type things to do, but I just preferred the Coronado resort & beach... the weather is beautiful year-round, as well. |

I've never been to either. I'd considered investigating a move to San Diego (people who know me say I'd like it), but my old jackass boss just moved there last month, and I couldn't avoid him in his new position.

San Diego is very nice. The zoo is great and Sea World haha...mostly family oriented stuff....and if you're going after summer it shouldn't be obsenely crowded, so that may be a plus...the beaches are great - Coronado is nice as mentioned above..and the weather there is just gorgeous....I think San Diego is a great city...

When I visited LA, I really wanted to get down to San Diego, but we just ran out of time. I'd love to take a vacation there in the near future.

BF was stationed there in the Navy. He went to Tijuana a lot (mostly to drink) and remembers driving to Big Bear quite often.

San Diego is a beautiful city - they have one of the best zoos in the country.
I'd skip Tijuana and Ensenada and just go to Rosarito. Stay at the Rosarito Beach Hotel! It's legendary, Marilyn Monroe, Joe DiMaggio, and others from that era would stay there. There's another hotel, with a much nicer pool, can't think of the name of it right now. You can go horseback riding on the beach. Drinks and food are cheap! Tequila! (doing the Pee-Wee Herman tequila bar dance). ![]() |

I've spent a few summers in San Diego; it's a beautiful city.
The first (and last) time I went to Tijuana, my friend and I were escorted to an ATM in handcuffs (by the police), and required to pay a "fee" of $500.00 each in order to be released. Not one of my best vacations... ![]()

Never been to Tijuana. Donkey shows don't attract me.

TNWIH!Anyway, my friend rented a house there for her nov. vacation. I have heard nothing but good things, like if you have enough money, it's pretty much paradise on earth. The weather, the people, the high level of income required, the surfing, the blah, the other blah....But, yeah, i wouldn't go to Tijuana... Amber

I've been to both. San Diego is beautiful. Tijuana is kinda icky, but you gotta go there just go there - you are only a hop skip & a jump away if you are staying in San Diego anyway.

Rosarita Beach is really beautiful! If you can handle the "run-downyness" of it, it's a great vacation. Me and a friend of mine went there years and years ago and stayed at a "resort" right on the cliffside
"I am a cliffdweller... from the old school....." Great margaritas and great food. And very secluded. Tijuana blows chunks for anyone except underage US drinkers. A very scary place and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. San Diego is nice, but a little boring. It's too spread out- you gotta have a car. The Zoo, Wild Animal Park and Sea World are great. If you are one to love basking in beautiful weather by the beach, then San Diego is definitely the place to be. I think Laguna Beach and Dana Point/Encinitas/Cardiff-by-the-Sea are more beautiful and tranquil, however. |
