Default If you were in Vegas...

...in October, what show would you see? I've been there once & saw Blue Man Group (a lot of fun.) I'd like to see a show while I'm there, but I'd rather not spend $150 or more per person.

Elton John will be at Caesar's while I'm there, but I don't know if it's worth $100 per ticket. I've heard O is awesome, but that's pretty pricey too.

Do any of you have recommendations on good shows? I'm up for anything (except those cheesey-topless-naughty-porno-dancing girls shows!)

My favorite show in Vegas is Mystere by Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island. I think the tickets are pretty up there, but it is a GREAT show and I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.

As for Elton John, I saw him several times between the early 80's and mid 90's. Every year that passed he was a little bit worse. He has nowhere near the vocal range he used to and the last time I saw him, probably around '95, he had lost a lot of the energy that his earlier performances had. If I were to spend some money on a show in Vegas, it wouldn't be on EJ.

Second City has a troupe there, that I've heard is always entertaining. And definitely Cirque de Soleil... I think Mamma Mia also has a show there.

Yeah, people tell me that any Cirque show is worth the $$$, so I may go with either O or Mystere.

I've heard the same thing about Elton from several others, so forget that. And Mama Mia is up when I'm there, but I've seen it already (and boyfriend will not be into that at all!)

Talking I would...

wander around asking those Vegas nitwits "Have you seen "Randall Flagg", If so do you know which hotel "he" is currently staying at? We work in similar "circles", so to speak"...

Default Mystere !!!

Mystere is AWESOME! Is FANTASTIC!! I highly recommend it. I saw it in 1994. I have heard great comments about O, but never saw it.

Unfortunately Sigfrid and Roy show is not played more, very sad.

I saw last year S&R, as Mamma Mia too. I highly recommend Mamma Mia ONLY if you love ABBA songs.

Ive never seen Elton. Though I know he doesn't sing live as good as in the past, I'd go to see it anyway.

Don't miss the water show at Bellagio. And the Pirates show at Treasure Island. Both are short and free since you can see them from the street.

I believe the Pirates show is no more at Treasure Island. If I remember correctly, Treasure Island has revamped its image to make it less "kidlike" and more adult oriented. The pendulum is swinging back to Vegas being the playground for adults, which is as it should be.

I still haven't been to the strip. I would see a Cirque show, but I have no desire to see Siegfried & Roy. That new TV show about the lions looks pretty bad.

And BTW, funny you should mention this, as my parents are on a plane for Vegas right now. They go every July for some business (pharmacy) show. July in Vegas. Yuck.

Yeah - the pirate show now consists of half naked people fake fighting and getting wet....but it still looked interesting from the bus which is where I saw some of it from - I was there in April.

Also, the Belagio fountain is something to see if you're a fountain whore like me...I just have a thing for fountains...I love them...

I didn't catch any shows while I was there, I had plenty to do just walking around and seeing the sites...and playing those nickel slots

I always thought that some day my big house will have a pool, some big trees, tennis courts, and a fountain. I like the sound of water moving. What fountains have you visited?

BTW, I think you could get a lot of hits if you created a web site with a picture of a fountain and penny icons that visitors could click on to "toss" in the fountain to make a wish. Just stupid & corny enough to be big on the web.

hahah..that would be fun...the penny icon thing...

It's also a dream of mine to have a nice fountain in or outside my house one day...and not just one of the crappy table top ones (which I'm currently in the market for)

Anyway, a friend of mine and I went to Phoenix a few summers ago and decided to get pictures of ourselves in as many fountains as possible (she's a fellow fountain fanatic) so we started at Castles and Coasters in Phoenix and just went all over the place hopping in fountains....she did the same thing in our hometown, but I've only been in a fraction of them...I need to catch up...

When I went to NY I was excited to see the fountain in Central Park, but it wasn't running and had no water in it...so I was disapointed....

I haven't visited many famous fountains...I just love any type of body of water - so Rochester is just amazing to me and I love that everywhere I look there seems to be water....so beautiful...I guess it comes from living in New Mexico where water is something we don't see a lot of....

What's the address?! what is it?!!! I must throw a virtual penny in a fountain, NOW!!!!
Never been to vegas, but if i did, i'd go with Cirque only. Unless uh, Lion King was in town. Otherwise i'd mostly see my reflection at the bottom of the glasses that the free drinks came in! and my carpal tunneled hand pulling at the nickel slot.

Houston has these modern style water walls right near where I live. They're pretty tall and scenic.

I made it up. Not a real place. But feel free to create the site.
I'm the one who has been to Vegas (for a job interview) but never even made it to the Strip. The closest I came was the view from the airport terminal.
