Wink the new Batman? Keaton was best!

So I see Christian Bale is the new Batman. I hope they aren't going to ruin the "new franchise" before it even gets off the ground. I still can't get over Michael Keaton being the best Batman there was. He was dark, and brooding, and he had the perfect voice! Sure he didn't really "look" the part of Bruce Wayne, but it didn't matter...he was believable. I think the first two Batman's were the best, and even though that had Tim Burton's stamp all over them, they still stand up as "definitive Batman."

I would die to see Keaton come back and re-do an aging Batman. They could adapt the script from Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" for all you graphic novel aficionados out there.

All I wish is that Tim Burton was directing it again. Pure genius. Edward Scissorhands, Batman, he's the best director there is, hands down.

But I don't mean to change the subject. Keaton was an awsome batman. He was great, and really sold the vengeful, mysterious attitude.

I never cared for any of the Batman movies, though I usually love comic book hero stories. I know the movie sucked, but I like Val Kilmer, though I admit he wasn't quite right for the role. And I hate that Batdance song by Prince.
I'm not sure I know Christian Bale (Was he the one in that dragon movie?), but I'm at least relieved they gave up the efforts to cast Nicholas Cage as Superman. That would have been painful, no offense to his many fans here.

I saw it so long ago, & I certainly don't remember the characters' names. I didn't like it enough to rent it again now.

Didn't like it??

At any rate, I can't picture Christian Bale as Batman. He was also in the horrendous atrocity of a film, American Psycho.

I didn't hate it, I just remember thinking the ending was dumb.

Never saw American Psycho. (Other than when I met you. ) So he wasn't the one fighting dragons?

The ending wasn't dumb...it was incredibly sad. Then again, your version of choice cinema is probably Debbie Does Dallas sooooo...

Fighting dragons....would this be the movie you speak of? I've never seen this but I looked up Christian's name...

Yeah, that's the one. Good special effects. And I think he'd be a good Batman.

The Debbie movie sounds more fetching than Marissa Does Margate. (Besides, I only watch it for the articles. )

I just can't see him as Batman. I didn't like the movies but I thought Michael Keaton was the best. Kilmer? Blah. Clooney? Blah.

Is "articles" code for "two birds of Rhiannon?"

Wiseass.

I didn't care for Clooney at all. And I've never been a Keaton fan to begin with, but his pencil neck looked ridiculous in that costume, IMO.

Does Rhiannon create silicone birds?

Dumbbutt.

Okay, but looks aside..don't you think Keaton made the best Batman?

Okay, fine, the two birds formerly known as Sister Honey's (sounds more pornish). There ya go.

Good grief. I'm talking about boobs. This is when you know you've been awake for too many hours.

I think Keaton was good in the batman suit...but out of it, no bueno. He's creeparoo. You could sand a car with that guy's face.
Kilmer was okay (I have a friend who did costumes on that one with stories that would curl Dissention's hair). Clooney was fine. But I have a weakness for Clooney. A few of them.
Bale is gonna be good, I think. There is something kind of brooding and off about him, and I think that'll be interesting. Plus, the dude is sexy as all get out, IMO. In kind of a frat boy gone bad kinda way...

Anyway...back to the topic at hand...I love Michael Keaton as Batman...Val Kilmer.eh...it wasn't horrid...but George Clooney...ugh...he was awful..and all those stupid ass one-liners in that one...that was one of the worst movies I have ever sat through...

I hope Christian Bale pulls it off...
