Curry Grant

Forgive my ignorance, but I had no clue that Curry Grant was working with Mac again. I know he was let go on the Rumours (I think) tour, but I never heard anything about him after that. He's listed as lighting director on the SYW DVD.

As a side note, Karen Johnston has a photog credit too. Perhaps she took the blurry shots...

He was the lighting director at the time, and Christine's boyfriend for a period of time.

Curry's been working on lighting & production design for most of the tours, including Tusk, Mirage, Tango & Mask. He also did lighting & production for Stevie on just about all her own tours, & if you can dig up that band & crew photo of the Christine McVie 1984 tour, you might even find Curry there, too.

I know about that, and I had read that was the reason Curry was asked to leave the tour - John wasn't handling the relationship well.

I did not know that he apparently returned the next tour & apparently every tour thereafter - thanks for the info, David!

He wasn't really 'let go' initially.... he was just sort of 'sent home' for a few months after he and Chris took up w/ each other (right after she split w/ John.) After awhile John got himself together, and Curry came back to work for them and (as someone already wrote) has since done their lighting for nearly every tour.

Almost forgot-- if you have the backstage Japan stuff from 1977, he's in a bunch of snippets w/ Chris-- next to her while she interviews herself :-), and also there while she plays that game w/ Greg.

I was watching that a few weeks ago and said to myself--hmmm...is that Curry Grant?? Thanks for clarifying! Although it did alarm me that I would even know what Curry Grant looks like. I must be a true Mac fan or something.

Everytime I say the name Curry Grant, it sounds like someone with a Southern accent saying Cary Grant.

I also picture him when I see that name. Boy, lucky girls!! LOL

Yeah, in the Rumours 77 special she's in a room and she's saying something about it and he's in there too? I didn't know he was still around either!
