Last Leg - Random Thoughts

Sigh.... I'm still waiting to see "my" show. Today I checked Ticketmaster and was a little saddened to see the list of shows barely fill up a screen. That means the end of the tour is near. It's been a nice long ride. We waited a LONG, LONG time for this. And I'm very much loving reading all of YOUR (the fans) reviews.

The pictures on this leg of the tour are so much more incredible, in fact, I broke my printer trying to print them off (they're going in my personal scrapbook, by the way.)

So here's my thought on the last leg of this wonderful tour: I think there was an agreement made that Stevie be more subdued on the first leg of the tour, in dress and mannerisms for, maybe, a couple reasons; 1) to conserve her energy and 2) to give Linds a chance at, dare I use the word, "grandstand" a bit. I think he took this particular tour as the real comeback, unlike The Dance which was a reunion- there is a difference. So, on this, the last leg of the SYW tour, seems the spotlight is a bit more on Stevie. She's busting out some awesome new show pieces, she's wearing gloves, she's putting her hair up and wearing jewelry and now I hear the Girls and Out and having fun too. Ya Gotta Love Mama Nicks I'm really happy to hear the shows are going as well as they are because I wasn't sure if I was going to catch any more on this leg and now I can't wait.

Okay, that's my ramblings for now... keep on keepin on with those great reviews and pictures. It'll all be over before we know it and we'll go back to being bored again, waiting for new stuff and trying to find things to talk about.

The last leg was better IMO than the already good first leg two legs. I must say a special thank you to Stevie for removing Sara from retirement. I will NEVER in my life forget hearing it in Madison and openly weeping at hearing it. AND, while not as emotional for me as Sara, IKINW was great to hear as well. The Mac was great and I am glad they did it this time and for so long as with them one never knows if it will happen again. to them

I remember being on the Ledge when all we had to get excited about was a one-line mention in a magazine or something. NOTHING was going on. Every two years or so, we'd get this announcement that the Gift of Screws was about to be released and we'd be thrilled, only to be let down when the release date would come and go.
This sort of overabundance of FM has been such a fabulous time and one I am so, so grateful for. Because you know it may never come again in this particular way...
And I've loved each segment or leg of the tour. I know a lot of folks were not overly thrilled with the concert which happened to be my first FM concert--Atlantic City last year--but I loved it. When they took that stage and I knew they were going to be doing an entire concert--in person--I just soaked up every moment. And, yup, Ms. Stevie is a little more energized this year. Sara is a beautiful gift that I never expected. Lindsey is a wonderful maniac who astounds me each time I see him perform.
And John and Mick aren't too shabby, either;-)
I'm going to miss this time when we're all sitting around waiting again, but I will always be thankful that we all had this opportunity to see them.

I happen to disagree, I don't think any agreement was made for Lindsey to grandstand or shine or whatever term some people have used. I don't know what Stevie's reasons were for not using more of her stage clothes, but I don't think anyone in the band or Stevie would change what she wears to let Lindsey shine or focus more attention on him. I believe she wore one black dress for the entire TISL tour so this seems to be a trend and many of us are happy she's decided to add so many pretty pieces this leg.

As for Stevie's energy level, she hurt her hip right before the tour started and she mentioned the problems she was having with menopause and how she had to fight it everyday. In indoor arenas there were shows where Stevie would be on the side of the stage waiting to go on and you would see her fanning herself. This year in the awful heat of the outdoor sheds, she seems to be cool as a cucumber There were shows last year where you could see her limping or favoring one side of her body, and no one is seeing that this year, so perhaps she really is feeling better.

Stevie seems more enthusiastic this leg of the tour and whatever her personal reasons or problems were last year, I think fans are enjoying seeing her more animated this year and looking beautiful in her new clothes and accessories.

Lindsey was not this interactive during The Dance tour and I think everyone can see he is totally enjoying interacting with the fans and does everything possible to make sure people are having a good time. The positive energy he gets from fans seems to push him and makes for a better show. Many fans who are up front or in the first 10 rows try to engage Stevie and catch her eye but for whatever reason Stevie has, she really does very little interacting with fans. Perhaps it takes away her concentration or focus. Some fans have speculated she doesn't want to single out any fans and hurt or disappoint other fans. As it is, it's hard enough during many quiet songs when idiot fans decide their going to try to get her attention by screaming !!!!STEVIE!!!! during Big Love, SG, NGBA....but that's a whole other discussion

I'm loving the pictures and reviews this leg of the tour and I hope every fan has the opportunity to see them again this year. I hope you enjoy your show and decide to post a review
