I wouldn't be surprised to learn that either Stevie or Chris said on first listen to Law and Order "He's not pulling that **** with MY songs."

I understand what you're saying, and realize that some of it is being presented as what Lindsey's point of view might be, but I don't think of most of Stevie's solo work as "commercial". Quite the opposite, actually...I think it's quite creative and very reflective of herself. Sure, some of the songs were naturally commercial, but I don't view Stevie as having been too concerned with that I'd say all the way up through OSOTM. Even though she and FM are up against the current state of the record industry, it still surprises me that she is sometimes concerned with commerciality now, as absolutely fuming pissed as she was with TimeSpace when her record company tried to change her to be "more current". I mean, people change their mind about things, but that seemed to just tear her apart. And perhaps even with Street Angel...it seems part of the reason she was so angry about the way it turned out was because it did not reflect her creative vision.

I find some of the posts regarding this Stevie quote (and her interview responses in general) interesting, but I don't think what she says about Lindsey here needs to be made into a big deal. Stevie is very honest ("too honest" as she always says her mom tells her), much more honest than much of us would have the balls to be in her position. We all have emotions like this, but most of us don't share them with anyone, especially the whole world. We all have certain things where there's a version we tell others and the real reason we keep to ourselves. Stevie just didn't gloss that over here. Also, she was having to convince the band and the world that her solo career was not going to ruin FM, and so went to the extreme to attempt to tone down her success. In other Bella Donna interviews, she talks about Trouble, and it seemes she genuinely liked the song.

When it comes to generally listening to each other's solo work, I'm sure it's impossible for them (especially Lindsey) to not think about what they would have done differently, as any human probably would.

I'm probably just overly tired of seeing cries of "jealous!" everytime Lindsey said something that wasn't complimentary of his bandmates. They've all got opinions that aren't complimentary about each other and I think that's pretty normal. That's all.

Just a little addition -- after completing both Law & Order and Go Insane, he said he didn't want to tour because he didn't think he had enough solo material that would translate well to stage, and he didn't want to do Mac songs back then to fill out the set. He thought he'd need at least one more solo album before he'd want to try a solo tour.

Maybe it's what you meant by "performance", but if I'm thinking of the same quote, he referred to their shows as "longe acts" because they "relied so heavily on FM songs". This doesn't necessarily imply anything regarding what he thought of their other material. Correct me if you're talking about something else entirely.
