Boston DVD Question

Hi everyone,
This may sound like a silly question. But I was wondering what shape is your packaging in? Is it shaped like a CD box or DVD box? Because I got mine at Best Buy and it's shaped like a CD but on the FM official website...it is shaped like a DVD. I just wanted to make sure that I have the same thing everyone else does.

You have the digipack... I bought the same today. But I also ordered the dvd/cd one that included Destiny Rules from their site... Don't know what's going to show up - but it looks like it's the longbox version of the dvd..

There wasn't an option in the store when buying the dvd's today.

I'm starting to think that they didn't end up manufacturing any of these in a DVD keepcase, as it seems retail stores are only selling the digipak version... and that's exactly what those of us who ordered from HD Ready are getting, too.

So then what's the DR in? digipack or the longbox?

And... Are they selling the cd seperately or not?.. I didn't see it sitting there, just the dvd/cd. I was under the impression that it was sold seperately. Maybe later on they will split them up... sell the dvd in the longbox and the cd seperately.

'Destiny Rules' is in a keepcase (longbox).

And as far as I know, the CD is not being sold separately from the DVDs... and vice versa.

The cd is in the right side of the fold out case, just slipped into the pocket. The left side pocket has the little insert with song details. The DVDs are in the middle.

They ARE selling an amaray version (DVD case) but the digipack is the one that's in most stores.

Right now most record labels have gotten into the business of putting out releases in the two different configurations because of different preferences at retail. My label's done this consistently- most recently with Tori Amos, Beyonce, Cyndi Lauper, and Shakira, among many others. It's a total pain, but.

Stores have different preferences for music DVD- kinks are still being worked out in what the "standard" will be for those releases, and it gets even more confusing now when so many of these releases are CD/DVD combos. Everyone has different standards on what they consider a "CD" and what they consider a "DVD." Additionally, many retailers have new ideas on where they want to file these- some retailers (like Target and others) don't really have music DVD sections and prefer to file these releases with the CDs in the artist's section, making digipaks preferable. Other stores (Best Buy included) generally prefer amaray, and file them in a separate music DVD section in their DVD layout.

I thought it was weird that Best Buy bought the digipak, they have been making a company-wide stance to stick with amaray.
