Default Boston DVD Impressions

So what are your impressions of the Boston DVD? I am extremely impressed with the video quality. I originally had it hooked up with a standard DVD player and was very disappointed, then I tried it on my progressive scan and the quality was outstanding. I highly recommend one to anyone that wants the full experience!

I think the sound is great, and I love the arena-like affect, unlike the studio-quality in The Dance.

It was also very exciting to see my girlfriend and myself touching Lindsay during GYOW. I never thought we'd make the cut.

Anyways, let's post our impressions here.

I'm sorry, I don't do impressions.

Seriously though, I'm very pleased overall. Through my stereo-equipment and TV, the sound and picture-quality are impressive. Very crisp, with a lot of depth.

I don't have high-high-end equipment... my equipment is more mid-range. So maybe on the highest-end equipment, limitations would be revealed... but on mine, everything looks and sounds beautiful.

Yeah, it's good... the sound quality meets my approval (I can be hard-to-please when it comes to sound quality, though i'm not impossible-to-please).

In my opinion, it's definitely more of a "highlights" kind of disc, than a proper album.
'The Dance' is a proper album... this CD is more of a sampler.

I think its excellent. It truly captures this tour. For anyone that has been a fan prior to the DANCE knows just how fortunate we are to have Buckingham/Nicks front and center.

I really enjoyed it. As some others have said, I got mine at Best Buy and the sticker said $22.99- the cashier had no clue it was on sale so I had to show her the ad- I guess that means I was the first one who bought it, and it was 2 in the afternoon . A few notes:

-Second Hand News rocked, but did anyone notice that at the end there wasn't the close-up of Stevie rockin her tambo like there was when it was broadcast on New Years Eve? Maybe it was just me.

-I thought Rhiannon was great. A lot of cool hand motions and body language, and she looks SO DAMN GOOD in her Rhiannon outfit! The end was powerful.

-Did anyone else hear Christine singing "Tusk"? I could have sworn I could hear her. Think they overdubbed from the Dance?

-Gold Dust Woman and Beautiful Child were draw-dropping. Wow!

Other general comments: Yes, those close-ups of Stevie's face are REALLY close- back off! Also, was it just me of was Stevie just *kinda* (she still sounded great) loosing her voice towards the end of the night?

Overall, I thought it rocked, but it is annoying to have to switch the DVD's when it is only 2 1/2 hours long and could easily fit on one disc. Oh well!

SO, I give it 4 1/2 stars!

Is there any way to transfer the 2 DVD's to 1 if you have a DVD burner? If there is, would there be a loss of quality?

Also, is it difficult to copy the DVD songs to MP3 so they can be burned to a cd?

You can do it, but it's not all that hard. I'll be doing this when I get LIB, and I've done it with both Red Rocks & the Tango video. The Dance is too long to put on 1CD, so I'll just stay put with the CD we already have of that.

You're going to need a DVD-ROM drive and a few programs (at least I did). I used this walkthrough to help me out the first time, but I've pretty much got it committed to memory now.

Yay, technology! I'm just not even gonna listen to the CD that comes with the DVDs, since I'm just going to end up making my own rip from the DVD.

First impression

Haven't seen the whole show yet, plan on watching back to front.. front to back tonight.

But took a look at lunch and love what I see and love what I hear. And the live arena appearance and look is a bonus and an advertisement to the world... that A LOT of people pack an arena to see these guys and have a great time!!

I think of the cd as a bonus to the dvd's as well... It's there in place of extras on the dvd's I guess... Not really a proper album, it probably would have been longer if it were proper and probably would have been released seperately like The Dance was too.
