Stevie's Wardrobe: New Tour Diary - Thought

The mention of the "plethora" of new wardrobe items for Stevie makes me feel like word got back to her and she did something about it. (all the boohooing about her black outfit.) That's pretty cool. Sure wish more pictures would have turned up somewhere tho. The one's I've seen were really nice, but from the sound of the tour diary seems like there were more outfits. ???

I just think that's really cool... kinda like back in the 80s, eh? I love that era in Stevie's career.... cuz I love beautiful clothes.

Yeah the dress looked like something she wore from the eighties (even though it's probaly not) but it's nice to see her in an arrangement of things, just a black
dress doesn't do her much justice.

This is kind of overlapping with the pics from Holmdel thread... I'm good at that, aren't I? LOL!! ... BUT....


I seem to recall an earlier tour diary that mentioned something about there being some vintage pieces in Stevie's wardrobe case and we couldn't figure out why she was hauling them around... thought maybe it was a good luck charm kind of reason, but maybe she's busted them out just for this final leg of the tour.... If that's it, I can't figure out why she would haul them around for the whole tour, Not that I know a thing about the life of a rock diva.

Anyone else remember that??

I thought these were new peices, but maybe she is just really attached to her things, I couldn't imagine her wearing the old peices, just updated versions, make sense?

Cory mentioned trying on the white blouse from the Gypsy video. Stevie is apparently hauling all of her old clothes around with her if she has the Gypsy top there for Cory to try and get into. I was at Holmdel and she had at least five or six new shawls, coats, dusters, cloaks. I think some of them might be old, like the dark blue one she wore towards the end of the show. She had a beautiful jacket on for Beautiful Child, it was a light cream color, it looked a bit gold under the lights but it was offwhite and very sparkly. The one for GB was just stunning. World Turning has a good photo of it but the back of it is what stuck out to me the most. Stevie even struck a pose at the end of GB so we could see all the detailed beading and embroidery on the back . The color is just breathtaking. It is such a deep red/maroonish color. Nothing like the Sara jacket she wears. It was much more fitted, with alot of intricate patterns on the back made from beads and sequins. I have mentioned the other piece that I can remember before...the black cloak. I think she wore it in Holmdel for the last two or three songs. I am not sure if it is old or new but I did hear her tell Kim she was cold and then she came out wearing it with another pair of gloves as well. It looked heavier than most of her other wraps and jackets and had the cutest sleeves. They were tight and right above her wrists they had a big ruffle, or puffed out. This cloak also had beading and sparkles on the back and appeared to be black velvet. I did see a pretty good photo of it around somewhere, maybe Pattie's? I am so happy to see Stevie changing things up a bit and the reds she has been coming out in really look striking on her. She has always been beautiful in red and finally, she seems to be adding some color to her wardrobe again. The hair clip she added during Sara is a nice change as well since you can see her face so much better. Maybe all the black dress bashing made its way back to her??

I'm pretty sure something got back to stevie. and kudos for that! sometimes you need outside opinions. otherwise, it seems odd that all of a sudden she's busting out all these new clothes when last year she barely changed at all.

Kelly, didn't you and Marissa tell me that Stevie kept complaining of being cold in Holmdel? Like motioning to Kim and stuff? Maybe that's why she busted out all the old shawls for the Holmdel show...?

I have a pic of the Tusk one in Mansfield but I don't know how to get it on here. Its a bad pic but you can see its the one she wore on the HBO sprcial in 1981.

I was at the PNC/Holmdel show -- and pretty close... and I honestly thought alot of what she was pulling out was old stuff I had seen before. I was nonetheless thrilled to see it. That red one she wore in Goodbye baby looked like something she wore on Solid Gold wheen she sang nightbird... That blue brocade one looked identical to the one in the opening on the 81 Concert tape (and she also wore during her BlueDenim TV spots), and that massive fridged cape/jacket looked like is was part of the RockaLittle Video opening ensemble (or maye it was part of the bluedenim wardrobe too.) Loved the changes, regardless of whether they were new or old.

Yes, thank you! I knew I had seen that GB cape before. She did wear it on Solid Gold during Nightbird!! Its gorgeous in person! She is so funny carrying all these old clothes around with her. They still look beautiful and are in great shape.

Now that we know she was fairly sick, I'm sure that's why she did so. She didn't motion to Kim as though she were cold. I think the wardrobe decisions had been made pre-show. I certainly complained about being cold. I was the ass that wore a tank top and it ended up being in the upper 60s that evening without a jacket or a cardigan. I'll be better prepared this Sunday. Jones Beach actually sits in the water and it's going to be in the 70s. I'm sure the shawls and dusters will be back out in full force again and they are GORGEOUS. I still have to get my Holmdel pictures up.

I certainly hope as they make their way across the U.S. that she continues to wear at least some of those pieces. It will definitely get hotter as the months roll by. My show isn't until the June 26, so not sure what the weather will be like. I haven't seen several of the old shows referenced in this thread, makes me want to get a hold of some boot videos! The pieces with the beading on the back sound fabulous and it's so cool that Stevie poses in them for people to see. She's the goddess of beautiful frocks and I still hold to my lifelong dream.... a tour thru Stevie's closet. I would load heavy equipment in and out for months on end to try on some of that stuff too!!! And that would be the only payment I would accept. Well, that and some pictures... with Stevie, of course! Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone. Can't wait to see more pics!

Actually its going to be in the low seventies during the day. Its expected to be in the sixties again at night. Being right on the water, I am preparing for a chilly night! No tank tops. ONE MORE Day!
