No, it doesn't sound dumb at all. You're absolutely right. Even if it's something they do all the time, it does not mean for one second that there is no actual emotion behind it. Of course, I am one of those "die hard fans" and I do dissect their relationship so what do I know?

I love dissecting their relationship, it intrigues me that two people who had been together so long as a couple and then tried to be friends, but down the line actually did turn into friends, I think it's sweet, and sometimes bitter sweet.
