Question Something I Have Noticed...

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who ever notices this, but...

Have you ever listened to "Little Lies" with one part of the headphone and switched to the other, and noticed the song sounded different?

If you have earbud headphones, this would work better.

I guess I'm just noticing the layering done by Mr. Buckingham...

Dr. Evil- "...I thought we'd name it in his honor: The Alan Parsons Project."
Scott- "The Alan Parsons Project was a progressive rock band from 1982. Why don't you just name it Operation Wang Chung?"

Haha...I don't mean to be a smart ass, but EVERY song ever mixed is slightly different in the left and the right. That's called stereo mixing. When you're in the studio like Lindsey, he loves doing odd stereo pannings (meaning from side to side).

It's great cuz you can hear stuff you've never heard before.

Try listening to the Tusk album like this...

Some of the instruments/vocals have been pushed so far to the left or right of the mix that listening to only the L or R output changes the mood of the whole song!

(I found this out a few years ago when I was walking in the street listening to Not That Funny on my discman: one of my earphones accidentally fell out and suddenly the guitar disappeared from the song!)

I recommend listening to everything on headphones. The cd player in my truck died several months ago (I'm wanting to trade up, so I've not gotten it fixed). Well, since driving around with a Walkman and headphones, I've discoverd SO much on the cds that I never heard before. The difference is incredible.

Uhhu. For while I was walking around with headphones where the right one wasn't giving enough sound. Totally changed the sound of The Ledge.
