Thumbs down SEQUELS you hate

Seconds part are never good. Maybe the exception are Godfather II and Empire Strikes back (though later we learned this was an episode V).

But most of the sequels are really really BAD.. like...

Rocky XXXVII (I mean all Rocky sequels)
Crocodile Dundee II (so boring..)
Scarlett (that TV production for Gone with the Wind sequel)
Well, Jaws II was fine (I was around 12, so at that age I found it cool) but all other shark movies were ridiculous.

I think Fleetwood Mac was very smart producing Tusk instead a Rumours II

Instead we got Mirage as Rumours II.

Actually, when you look at the situation, Tusk would've been a FOURTH album in a row for Lindsey (and Stevie) in that same vein. Buckingham Nicks, Fleetwood Mac (aka "white album"), & Rumours, all had similar production sounds. So, it wasn't JUST Rumours that Lindsey was avoiding...he'd already accomplished getting certain sounds for THREE straight albums previous to Tusk...I don't blame him for wanting to do a 180.

Back to the original topic

I usually avoid sequels altogether...but, like you mentioned, Villavic, The Godfather & Star Wars ones were actually part of a pre-planned series, not just an afterthought when the original became a blockbuster in the theatres.

A sequel I thought was pretty good: Beethoven II

Analyze That was painful, I shut it off after half an hour.

I loved the first Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street movies but all of the sequels pretty much sucked.

European Vacation totally sucked although I do like Christmas Vacation.

Airplane II really sucked. The first one is like, the best movie EVER, but the second one couldn't hold a candle to the original . Grease II sucked, too. But then again, the first one was nothing to write home about, either.

Yeah, Airplane II sucked, I was really dissapointed, eventhoug I was 15. But the only moment I reallly laughed to die was at the moon station scene, where the assistant talked to Williak Shatner through a video conference, and the image fist showed static and lines and then his face appeared, just to find the tv screen was actually a window in a door and he was behind the glass.

And about Grease.. have you heard they are making a GREASE III ??? I heard it will be based in the 70s. I hope at least the music will be cool

Yup. And they're also remaking Fiddler.

Oh man I'm about to have a heart attack after reading that. Analyze This and That are of my top 10 favorite movies EVER. And That to me is equal to this.
.
And I know I'm in such a minoruty here, but I often PREFER sequels to the originals. I don't know I just like the fact that in a sequel you already know the characters and everything and it's a continuation in many ways of the first movie. I liked all the Halloween sequels up til when Donald Pleasence died and there was no more DR. Loomis They really should've quit when he died. H20 and Ressurerection should've never happened.

Most sequels suck except for Aliens and T2 (as much as I hate to credit anything that idiot has done, T2 is a damn fine movie.)

How about all those awful "Who's Talking" sequels and "Honey I Blew Up the Kid?" I never saw any of those but I imagine they were horrible.

One sequel I did see that I hated was Hannibal---really can't stand that movie, it was definitely worse than Red Dragon, but then again I'm a Ralph Fiennes groupie so what can I say?

Umm..but if you didn't see them how do you know they were awful??

I actually really enjoy the above mentioned...I like Honey I blew up the Kid better than the first one...it's an enjoyable family flick...and the Look Who's Talking sequels weren't GREAT but I also find them entertaining lol...I may be a minority in that opinion..I often like sappy cheesy family type movies...

As for others...

Scary Movie 2...I mentioned this in some other thread (Movies you hate?) and it applies here as well...what a piece of garbage...

I wasn't a fan of Austin Powers - the Spy Who Shagged Me though a lot of people I know really liked it...Fat Bastard really disturbed me...

Ah...well if you hated the first ones then yeah...not a chance of liking the others..though I hated Honey I Shrunk the Kids...and liked the sequel...though I haven't seen it since I was in middle school or high school or something...so now I may not like it so much...
