Default They should freshen up the setlist

I haven't seen the new tour or read many spoiler threads about it besides maybe one or two at the start of it last year. Anyway, I remember seeing the chain as the opening song and I couldn't help but think that they do the same thing every tour!

I am sure I'll hear about how it's the standard to opening the show but blah blah, I'm sorry but I don't agree.

I'd love for them to change things up, the chain seems much more like a second half concert song anyway. I think Everybody finds out is the perfect song to open the show with. Not that theyr'e even playing it according to what I read back then.

I heard Lindsey was doing a rendition of Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" and dedicating it to Stevie!

"Hey, where did we go
Days when the rains came ?
Down in the hollow
Playing a new game,
Laughing and a-running, hey, hey,
Skipping and a-jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our, our hearts a-thumping
And you, my brown-eyed girl,

You, my brown-eyed girl.
Whatever happened
To Tuesday and so slow
Going down to the old mine with a
Transistor radio.
Standing in the sunlight laughing
Hide behind a rainbow's wall,
Slipping and a-sliding
All along the waterfall
With you, my brown-eyed girl,
You, my brown-eyed girl.

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Just like that
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
La dee dah.

So hard to find my way
Now that I'm all on my own.
I saw you just the other day,
My, how you have grown!
Cast my memory back there, Lord,
Sometime I'm overcome thinking about
Laughing and running hey, hey
Behind the stadium
With you, my brown-eyed girl,
You, my brown-eyed girl.

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Laying in the green grass
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Dee dah dee dah dee dah dee dah dee dah dee
Sha la la la la la la la la la la la la
Dee dah la dee dah la dee dah la
D-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d..."

I personally think The Chain should end the initial set (before the encores). Of course, I would want the old instrumental jam at the end of it again, instead of just ending with "keep us together." But then I don't know what to place first. I don't think a band should ever open a show with a new song, unless they are a new band (obviously). The first and second songs should be well-known and welcoming to the audience, which is why I think they are so keen on keeping The Chain and Dreams as songs 1 and 2...it really is a good opening. Monday Morning might be a good opener...after all, i like it opening both Fleetwood Mac and the first Best Of disc. Second Hand News I think is a little too heavy for an opener, it needs to go where momentum has already been built. So, yeah, I think the only other opener that I could picture is Monday Morning. I never liked Say You Love Me as the opener, and they most likely wouldn't do it anyway without Chris.

I love "The Chain", it is a favorite of mine, so I wouldn't want to see it go, but if they had to do a new song for an opening, I think RTTG would be great! The first thing you would hear is Stevie whispering "Until she herself... became the deadliest poison!" and then some serious twirling and a Lindsey Guitar solo would have to happen in the song!

Lindsey even said before the tour started in 2003 they WOULDNT be opening with the chain...and at the dress rehearsal show in march they even opened with Eyes of the World and THEN went into the chain...i think i would like that for an opening
