Mmmmmmmm ... I got mine in the mail yesterday and y'all. The "I don't want to be a cleaning lady" demo of Sara alone is enough to merit the price of the album. So tragic. So beautiful. Kind of makes me want to take a time machine back to 1978-79 and give Stevie a big hug and tell her it's okay....
Um, all right. Sometimes I get a little incoherent over good music, so if you don't like the spacy gushy posts, I apologize. I'm new in these here parts. ![]()

Welcome to the board!
Many of us already heard the Cleaning Lady version of Sara from bootlegs, and most agree that it is the best version of the song. Paula |

Thanks for the welcome!
Actually, I've heard quite a bit about the "cleaning lady" version, probably through some of the Ledge's sister sites, and I could hardly BELIEVE my delight when I realized that they were, in fact, going to let it out at last.... Legally that is. I guess they just couldn't put a close-to-nine-minute opus on an LP in 1979 -- the album being enough of a risk as it was -- but DANG.Okay. I'll stop with the gushing for today, if I can. Thank you for your patience.

I gave in and downloaded it a few weeks ago. I also download the remastered demo that was posted a few weeks ago and I have to say I like it better. It's a little longer and the guitar seems to be stronger. Maybe when I hear the remastered version of 'cleaning lady' it will be on top.
Wishing I had money to buy the reissues...

Lala, I wish I had the money also. I wish I can find the CD's. Fleetwood Mac is not a big seller in Canada.
Who wants to pay $ 39 for each. So I guess we are out of luck. |

I love the sound of the Cleaning Lady version. Not quite so distant. I love the album version's ethereal quality, too, but this isn't so heavy.

I like the cleaning lady version a lot. But I don't really like Sharon or whoever is singing in the background. They sound way off and very weird.

I like Sharon in the background. This is definetly a great version of Sara, I don't know if I like it more then the album version, but maybe.
But my favorite Stevie song on the Tusk reissues is the Storms disc 2 version, that kicks ass. It doesn't seem so damn depressing anymore. I love the way it flows, much better then the album version in my opinion.
