Did you watch the same documentary as the rest of us?? I think you might want to watch it again because I didn't get that impression at all and neither did anyone else I talked to about it!

I don't think he means it this way, but a lot of people who know his treatment of her when they were together could say he is doing that in a controlling way. I don't think it's like that now, but old habits die hard in some people's minds and her hand placement and her facial expression could be seen as defensive, if you know what I mean.

I do know ALL the history between them and I don't see this as anything else but a loving gesture. I don't see that Stevie is uncomfortable with him doing this at all. And this isn't the first time he's done that sort of thing at the end of the show, either. During the second Atlanta show in September, he did a similar thing but no one caught it on camera.

Are you sure you do not mean Goodbye Baby? LB stated he wrote Say Goodbye about leaving SN and the band. Conversely, SN has never mentioned what GB is about, although the speculation dies indeed usually lead to a flame out as you mentioned. But, if you meant Say Goodbye - no offense itended - I was just confused (as usual )

I agree that the documentary was great in showing all four members as normal people. It was really interesting hearing how much input Stevie has for the songs. I actually felt bad for Lindsey at times because it seemed like Stevie and Mick were kind of ganging up on him, but then at some points Lindsey was just a little too whiny. I had to laugh because my sister who doesn't know an awful lot about Fleetwood Mac turned to me at one point and said, "Oh my God, he's such a crybaby." (Lindsey lovers, don't get offended please, just restating what she felt about him because of the documentary). It also seems to me that Stevie is much more down to Earth, especially with that commerciality analysis, knowing that 10-27 year olds are buying music and they won't want to buy 23 songs from ppl in their 50's, and they won't get the deep meaning behind it. It's sad that it has to come down to the commercial aspect, but in all honesty, she's right. The only thing that confuses me is, if she gets it, and other members of the band get it, then why market the album to an older audience by not even releasing the singles to the younger radio stations? It couldn't have hurt.

Lastly, I don't think I was annoyed by the fact that they showed nothing of the heated arguments between Lindsey and Stevie over the running order or the arguments over him staying at home to finish the album while everyone went to Hawaii. They just showed Mick sort of gloss over that part. I was waiting to see some of that, because it's still unclear (at least to me) what the running-order arguments were all about. So, that's my whole analysis of the documentary. All in all I loved it.

I see it this way:

Fleetwood Mac got along very well, but Stevie Nicks still likes to nitpick.....while Lindsey Buckingham FIXES the problem...

I did notice how limited Nicks is in her recording skills. She’s still like a new singer-songwriter who just does her homework, shows up and rehearses diligently, nitpicks the decisions her producer/arranger/engineer makes, and then goes home. Doesn’t do anything beyond that. In fact, Nicks hasn't grown in the recording studio since the TUSK video........

Buckingham has learned to engineer since then, and become a vituoso guitar player......

Nicks has been in the music business so long. For example, since she's in her twilight years now, – if she wants something her way which she always does – she should be producing albums like her TISL -- ENTIRELY -- by herself............

Also, here's the quote as to Buckingham feels about Nicks' THROWN DOWN which she wrote about him:

Musicians that write music write about things/relationships that they've experienced in the past, & they write about things about the present. Stevie wrote some songs years ago & stuck them in her vault. She brings them out for SYW. Of course, they are all about Lindsey. He was a very big part of her life. I think Lindsey is flattered; I don't think he thinks she's like stalking him or anything. They work together. I think they are all very business like, professional, at least that what I observed. They may be a sort of fondness there between them but only they know for sure. Stevie wrote about 9/11, but really there is not much is happening in her life now. What's she supposed to write about, her dogs? (Well, maybe. I know I'd have a doozy of a song about my dog.) I don't think she nitpicks; she's just fighting for her songs. She wants their meaning to get through, their originality.

On another note, I think Stevie really has a sense of humor (the singing fish), & it's nice to know she wears stuff other than black & I actually think she had sandals on once.

And though Lindsey still favors his white t-shirt, he wears other shirts, too!

And John does look bored to tears sometimes.

And Mick just hold them altogether.

Oh, I would have loved the double album, but maybe it wouldn't have sold as well.

I think this documentary just made them look more human.
