Terms of Endearment (EVERY time I watch it, esp when that little kid starts bawling)

Stepmom (when she gives her kids those gifts to say goodbye)

The Patriot (I started SOBBING loudly in my HOUSE watching the video - when the little girl wouldn't talk & suddenly, when her dad is about to leave, she gasps "PAPA!" WWWAAAAAAAAAHH!)

Unhappy Well...

I saw The Passion today. I was a mess afterwards.

Independence Day (the scene where Randy Quaid blows the alien ship up....the fact he killed himself for his kids and the world...yep, I had tears. It's a very patriotic movie.)

Free Willy (Yes, I had tears when Willy got free, dangit. LOL)

Fox and the Hound gets me too.

Deep Impact (This one came out before Armaggedon, and I WEPT when the astronauts were saying goodbye to their families. This one hit me hard.)

YES!!! E.B. was totally robbed.

Thought of a few more:

Wit (TV movie with Emma Thompson)
Sophie's Choice
Saving Private Ryan (Several times, mostly when Giovanni Ribisi's character is dying and he says "I want my mama")
Armageddon (when Liv Tyler and Bruce Willis say goodbye)

Ellen definately should have won, if not only for her monologue about her getting older. That and the Electroshock Therapy. Sheebus.

But God, I love that movie. Love, love, love. The book's pretty good, too.
The book was fantastic and I love Selby's work (especially "Last Exit To Brooklyn"), but at times I thought he got a bit lazy while writing it. Oh well, it's still great.

That monologue was the best part of the movie for me, actually.

As for the Director's Cut, I think it's better than the R-rated cut because the extremely graphic imagery was what made it so powerful.

PS: How did you like the the feature with Burstyn interviewing Selby on the DVD? I loved it!

You know, I thought that movie was laughably awful. It's probably the biggest stinker on Spielberg's resume.

Yep...I cried during that one...well actually it really made me teary, but the only part I actually out-right bawled at was when Jesus falls for the first time I think..and Mary has the flashback of him as a little boy falling....that got me big time....the rest was just intense...

City of Angels...
Fried Green Tomatoes
A League of Their Own (that scene where Betty finds out her husband was killed in the war...gets me every time!!)

Funny coincidence, this thread. On Saturday I watched three movies and cried so much that my eyes were swollen on Sunday morning!

I watched

Sleeping with the Enemy (some tears, not a lot)
Paradise (I've seen this several times and cry a LOT every time)
A Walk on the Moon (not supposed to be a tear jerker, but for me it was)

Great movie. That scene in the attic with Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith was heartbreaking.

I love boohoo movies.

Shadowlands- when Anthony Hopkins and the little boy start crying in the attic after she dies...

Terms of Endearment-like someone said, when the little boy starts crying and when the little girl in the end jumps around saying " daddy..daddy"

Sommersby-I saw this a long time ago and it's really sad but I don't remember why. My mom says she never saw me cry so hard at the movies

Little Women ( when Beth dies)- Claire Danes is amazing.

Steel Magnolias- When Sally Field goes to get Shelby's baby and he walks to her, no clue that his mommy just died..and later when Sally has a crying fit and she says " that baby will never know how great his mommy was " or something like that..

Stepmom- yeah gets me too..that same scene.

Seabiscuit-when the guy pulls back and lets Seabiscuit look in his eyes...cried my eyes out.

Also, on tv...the last scene of season 8 of the X Files...when they are holding their baby and he kisses her...my God, every single time!!

Steel Magnolias - the ending is just heart-wrenching at the grave site. Sally Field does an excellent job. This movie also has one of my most favorite emotions - laughter thru tears. At the end, Sally Field says she is "so angry that she wants to hit something" and Olympia Dukakis grabs Shirley Maclaine and pushes her in front of Sally Field and says, "here, hit this!!".

Message in a Bottle - I cannot believe that any of the romantics on this board wouldn't mention this! I cry my eyes out every time! I would love to see a movie of another book of Nicholas Sparks' , The Notebook. Has anyone read it?

One True Thing - another cry my eyes out movie. Renee Zellweger and Meryl Streep are incredible in this movie. Highly recommended.

I have so many favourite bits from that film! It made me laugh and cry. Excellent!
