I don't think Stevie has ever even had a solo #1 single. The closest she came was with SDMHA, which reached number 3. Unless you count Fleetwood Mac songs, in which case Dreams was their only #1 single. But she wasn't very old at the time.

Wouldn't Cher win in this case, or did "Believe" (or whatever it was called?) only reach #1 on the dance charts? Am I misunderstanding your post?

"Planets of the Universe" hit #1 on the U.S. Dance charts.....Cher would have been the previous holder of the award, but Stevie was older when Planets hit #1...

Oh, ok . I was thinking only in terms of hot 100 or something. Billboard.com has a research service where they can look it up for you and send a photo copy or a reprint of the chart(s) you're looking for. Guiness has its own people research the details/validity of a record, don't they?

They want an actual confirmation before they start research on the topic....That way, they dont bother researching false claims...I am looking into billboard, any help would be appreciated...

Well, there are quite a few articles on the NicksFix that mention the chart position of Planets, but I've searched and can't find an actual chart.

Hey Alex... I have the Billboard issue with the chart that you are looking for in it. It is the August 11, 2001 issue. Planets of the Universe is #1 under the Hot Dance Music Club Play chart. I am sure you can order a copy of this issue somewhere. Hope this info helps!

"Maria" only hit #1 in the U.K.....Debbie Harry currently holds that record, but Stevie would hold the U.S. version, which we are trying to dig up the info for....

This is so cool! I guess Stevie is just so hip, it doesn't matter how old she is!

You don't think Stevie would be offended by this title, do you? I mean it implies that she is... old! When, she is so cool and hip, you know?

This is cool and all...but how is it a world record, if they are planning on limiting to the US?

It would make Stevie the "oldest woman in the world to have a #1 hit in the US".

Did you have any luck finding suitable verification, Alex? Maybe the person who said they had a copy would be willing to scan it or photocopy the page and send it to you.

Yeah, Blondie does have a new CD coming out, but she does not sell well AT ALL in the U.S. I still have had no luck, please spread the word around!
