When we left Brisbane is was the hottest day they’d had in ten years. Literally. When we landed in Melbourne it was raining. I’d to like request that we find a happy medium as far as the weather goes.

Melbourne is a great city, however it reminded me a lot of San Francisco, so instead of feeling like I was on vacation, I almost felt like I was just staying in a hotel at home. An odd feeling, but a lovely city nonetheless.

The shows in Melbourne went well. After Landslide someone yelled “It’s better than the Dixie Chicks!” which threw Lindsey off a little, he just laughed and thanked them. It gave all of us a good laugh as well.

Stevie’s been bringing out a lot of new wardrobe pieces, she’s not only been wearing the new Gypsy top and boots, but for the second show in Melbourne she wore a new top for Goodbye Baby. It’s a gorgeous pink, sparkly corset style top that she wore under her usual pink Goodbye Baby cape. It looked really pretty, especially under all the lights. I realize that Stevie’s outfit choices might not be a topic worthy of the evening news, but I, along with the few other gals on tour, I love when she wears something new, so I somehow feel the need to share it with you. Stevie’s assistant Karen, who knows how excited I get over these new clothing items, says we’re in for a real surprise in Sydney. So we have that to look forward to...I’ll keep you updated.

During World Turning a girl managed to climb over the speakers and made it on to the stage, right in front of Stevie. I’ve never understood the need as a fan to get on to the stage. As much dedication as that may display, it’s still kind of weird, if you ask me. One of our security guards stands right behind me during the show, and when I turned around to point the woman out to him, he was already gone. I looked back to the show to see the stage climber being kindly assisted off stage. Our security boys are quick, that’s for sure, the woman was on stage for a total of 2.3 seconds...hardly worth the work in my opinion, but now she has a great story to tell, I suppose.

Lindsey knocked over Stevie’s mic stand during I’m So Afraid....both nights. The first night he actually swung his guitar into it, the guitar got all caught in up the beads and ribbons and he kind of dragged it around. Now, me being the one who has to “care” for her mic stand, I never like to see this, as I’m the one who ended up coming in early the next day to repair the damage. So when he knocked the newly repaired stand over again the second night I was about ready to go on stage and kick some Lindsey butt. However, Stevie has my back...when she came back on stage for Landslide, one of the sound guys was picking her stand up. She just leaned in to the microphone and said “he’s so grounded.” My sentiments exactly.

As the band was all heading back to the dressing rooms after the last show, Stevie was singing ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’. Which isn’t weird in itself, she often bursts in to song for seemingly no reason. But it was cute, mid-verse she couldn’t remember the words, so Lindsey filled them in for her. She proceeded to stroll along singing while Lindsey hummed in the background.

We’re off to Perth, where it will be unbearably hot. And we’re playing an outdoor gig. Time to get the sunblock out...

I’ve never understood the need of a fan to get on to the stage. As much dedication as that may display, it’s still kind of weird, if you ask me.

That comment so succinctly & totally sums up Fleetwood Mac's attitude toward fans that I almost believe it's a parody, or even a plant generated by some clever fan in disguise.

You know, these "tour journal" entries are far more revealing than the band probably imagines -- & for reasons the band knows nothing about.

I think she was just trying to discourage others from doing the same by casting it in perjorative terms.

She is Greg's daughter and is about 24 if I calculate correctly.

Well OBVIOUSLY Cory thinks something like this is weird...she's related to THE MAN, sees this band every single day, is part of their camp, knows them all very well........

I was at this show & I don't believe Cory's thoughts echo that of the bands (at least not Stevie's)
Stevie's reaction was pretty cool - when the security guys removed the woman from the stage Stevie told them "she's OK". In addition to this as the band walked off stage to leave Stevie made eye contact with the offending woman (who was standing back in the front row) although i could not hear what was being said the woman seemed to be apologising to Stevie. Stevie responded with a big smile & said "its ok, its ok" in a reassuring way.
How cool is Stevie. If Stevie was pissed off she did a fantastic job of hiding it.

I did not get from Cory's letter that Stevie was pissed. although I am sure she initially was not too happy about it, who would be I cannot believe they let that woman stay for the rest of the show much less in the front row If that had been my concert, she'd have been thrown out or, at the least, put where she could not do it again.

Here's a copy of a letter posted on The Nicks fix - by the woman who jumped on stage. I hope i haven't broken any protocol by posting this here but i thought many of you might appreciate this story.

Hi! I was at the ' FLEETWOOD MAC ' concert on Monday 23rd February at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, with my husband and 3 children aged 32, 29, and 24, we have been waiting for this concert for 14 years. We were just blown away, it was like being there on a one to one basis, with the band, I was just mesmerized, a week later I am still on a high, so is my husband and 3 children. It was the best concert that we have ever been to. 'FLEETWOOD MAC' just work together so well, it's a credit to them, getting their lives back together, and getting the band together again, there was certain parts of the concert that I actually got very emotional, just to see and hear them play together again, they have gotten over their differences, you could just see and feel that they love and respect each other it was fantastic to see this again. They all looked and sounded great, none of them have lost it, they have all still got what it takes. We were lucky enough to be standing beside the stage, we got a chance to touch Lindsay's guitar, this blew us away, but I haven't told you the best part yet, well I'm about to now. I WAS THE LADY THAT GOT UP ON STAGE AND KISSED STEVIE, OH MY GOD! I CAN'T BELIEVE I CAN SAY THAT. I tried so hard to get back stage passes but I couldn't, I have admired Stevie for so many Years, Stevie inspires me in my singing, I have been singing for about 18 years, I turned 50 last year, at my party my sons and I did a full set of ' FLEETWOOD MAC ' songs, my sons play guitar and a friend played drums So I thought to myself I probably will never be this close to Stevie again, so I just climbed up and kissed her, it was fantastic. The only thing I regret is that, I think Stevie got a fright when she saw me on the stage, so for this I am truly sorry, the last thing that I wanted to was to frighten Stevie, but I know she was not angry because she saw me standing near the stage and she blew me a kiss, so that made me feel much better. So if anyone who might read this can you tell Stevie that I love her and would never hurt her 'FLEETWOOD MAC ' are legends. So ' FLEETWOOD MAC ' Don't stop playing! and ' SAY YOU WILL' COME BACK TO AUSTRALIA WE ALL LOVE YOU ROCK ON ' FLEETWOOD MAC ' THANKS FOR READING MY LETTER.

How silly and weird. I never understood such a behaviour. Some people cannot differentiate between the real life and their dream world. Scary...
