Yes i agree. I just compared them, and the pureness of this alt.take is unbeatable. She sounds so much more vulnerable. The ONLY thing that this version lacks compared to the albumcut is that fact that I know i'm not wrong is not immediately starting afterwards.

I concur. It is essentially a repetition of “Songbird” atmosphere-wise, it has the same sense of bitterness in there. Still great of course.

I just like the album version more. In between the erotic dream of “Brown Eyes” and the life-affirming naivety of “I Know I’m Not Wrong” the alternate one just doesn’t fit.

Opinion appreciated. I think the album version doesn’t really have that much production in it. The accompaniment sounds like it’s coming from a transistor radio from the other side of the room and Chris is right there in front of you singing and staring into nothingness through blank eyes. That’s more heart-breaking for me, especially when you consider the first verse. It’s like nothing can hurt the woman. She’s surrounded by this self-made wall that she’s built up for her protection. The backing track of that one has almost an ambient-like hum to it. It’s a sea of huge emptiness that only emphasizes the vulnerability of the vocal.

...just to gather arguments for promoting and defending Fleetwood Mac towards the major part of our friends and collegues who like Eels, Masters of Reality, At the Drive In, Muse and White Stripes. On the Ledge we feel strong, but outside everybody thinks I dance around all day on "little lies".

The album version of "Never make me cry" is great. It's got a other worldly quality that is so cool. Totally disagree.

I just downloaded a tusk-rehearsal-live version of I know I'm not wrong, which is quite a nice tune, , It's very unfinished but nice to hear ( could have been an Undertones-tune in this version). Did they put it in the set Back then? Never heard a live version before, and I was thrilled to hear this one. What do you all think about it? ( the guitarmess in the end could have been better. But I like the drive of the song...)

The ending solo sounds like a sloppy mess but I guess he wasn't trying to polish it up yet. It's worth a listen though, if only to hear the funny LB & SN vocals replacing the original harp riff. LB's the naive one and SN is the cynical one here.

About the vocals: they're great, I agree on that! But the cynical/naive thing, isn't that projection? Yes I can "hear"that too, because I think in the content of this song: stevie could have voted this one out of the set This song could have given her the "go your own way-rejection-feel".
