I agree with whoever mentioned a Buckingham Nicks reissue. We've been waiting for that for years! I've always thought that Stevie and Lindsey should release Buckingham Nicks plus a few new songs and bonus tracks as one big package. I'd definitely be ecstatic to get that for Christmas

It seems that Rhino is working towards the goal of remastering and releasing 'Buckingham Nicks' on CD, sometime in the near future, but David McLees (Rhino's vice-president of Artists & Repertoire) has said that there are "several rights issues" that would need to be worked out, before they can.

So basically, we need to just all cross our fingers!

Exclamation Gerald...

That was a TERRIFIC story!! Thanks for sharing that!! I could just picture this young guy on a bike, riding like crazy to get home to listen to Tusk.

Yep, Tusk is greatness!

oh OF COURSE your dissapointed, it wouldnt be a new mac release without your whining to accompany it. Try concidering some of the positive things?...for example, all these demos will be much better quality than what we have our hands on. How extraordinary did you expect it to be? Usually I wouldn't even addressing this...but your moaning made it just this side of being worth saying something.

Yeh this band has screwed up, screwed over, or been a bit late getting on the ball, but have you ever tried just taking what you can get and being thankfull for what is available instead of just pissing and moaning about it?

Looks good to me. I wasn't really expecting them to release much in the way of Stevie's demos, but I'm glad we're getting "Think About It" and "Planets of the Universe." My only beef is that they didn't include "The Tower" and the Tusk version of "Smile at You." Since both of them have already been released on Say You Will in "official" versions, I can't see why they wouldn't have just given us the demos.

I'm honestly glad that they didn't just pack these with Stevie demos, to the exclusion of Lindsey's and Christine's stuff. I'm interested in hearing their outtakes, too.

Positive? Like your post? Practice what you preach.

I'm rather surprised at some the stuff they are offering up (the band jam, the unknown demos, POTU), but they could've done a helluva lot better. Single mixes and numerous demos of the same songs? Pffft. I already have those things (most of the mixes have already been released), why plunk down more cash for it? To support the band? Yeah, sure, I'd love to contribute to Stevie's redecorating. I hear that this year she's going for the French country look with just a smidgen of a dark, leather bar look to it. And Lindsey's kids need someone to pay for their dental insurance.

You know, I have a feeling that POTU will be something we haven't heard before. I think it'll be a band version, NOT an annoying piano demo.

"Butter Cookie"? Sounds very Christine, hopefully it is. I've been denied new Songbird material for too long. The single version of "Blue Letter" is something I'm looking forward to as well -- I love that song!

One thing I was wondering about was...why all the "I Know I'm Not Wrong" numerical listings. I mean, why are they labeled that way? I just found it odd that there is the same song listing twice. Almost as if there is something not accurate about this list. I don't care...I got my demo version of "Brown Eyes," so I'm happy!!!

Practice what I preach? I did. I was just pointing out that there are good things and bad things. It dosn't mean I was contradicting myself.

You say they could do a helluvalot better...based on what? None of us know for a fact what they have left on the demo reels. Sure stuff leaks out but thats not to mean it still exists on the tapes 20 years later, **** gets lost. None of us knows exactly what is on the original studio reels. You don't even know for sure what these demos will even sound like or what alternate takes they are going to be..yet you have already written them off. The bottom line is...its not possibly for a whole disc of demos to be released without some songs we've already heard of. As fans, we've heard mountains of material. If they had a bonus with only 4 unknown tracks...people would bitch they didn't release more a bigger bonus disc.

Can't we all just get along in this time of celebration that they finally gave us something interesting to look forward to?

You know, I totally agree. I don't even want to get into any arguments. I'm really looking forward to this and hearing all the new stuff and I enjoyed this thread because everyone was excited about it. ... then you get to CarnaVeca's post and its totally as expected. I'm not saying anything more about this because I don't want to break up this thread.

No, you took the time to point out negativity and perpetuated it by doing so.

The point is: why do we need numerous versions of *one*song? Why not give us some variety? Is it that they only have five versions of one song in the vaults? C'mon, that argument don't fly here.

And, yes, I would bitch if I shelled out $20 for a two-disc set and it only had a 4 song bonus; it's a rip. But, alas, I pre-ordered the limited edition SYW before the tracklistings were available. Otherwise, I would've shied away from the crap that is Not Make Believe and those crappy live versions.

(Second time today....)

Several people have expressed a disappointment in the bonus track selections, so no one should be singled out for this opinion.

Please refrain from personal jabs... we're all entitled to our opinions, pro or con.

Thank you.

so its okay for you or carnavaca to be negative...but for me to point that out...i'm being contradictory? I'm not even going to get into this. I'm not in the mood for a classic ledge style pissing match. Just don't buy the dam remasters
