18 and 21 seems pretty generous (price considerations aside), so I wonder if these numbers are accurate. But I am going to play the optimist for once and believe they are. A Tusk album with 41 tracks is as close to Elysium as one might ever get. Aaaah....

Speaking of Elysian Fields, has anyone gotten the Stones' Four Flicks DVD? I got it last weekend and only got through one disc so far. There is so much in there. I was practically salivating over the unfinished studio recording footage the CD included -- the Stones cutting loose with a tremendous groove. And I still have three more discs to go! All for 29.99! (a moment of silence in recognition of all those merchants who got screwed out of carrying this....)

OK, that's long enough. FM should do something like that (the content part, not the screwing the merchants part).

God I hope so! My 'cut and paste' versions of these albums w/ the b-sides and demos are really crappy...

If we do see them it'll probably be somewhere around 2050... I'll be dead but at least the next generation of Mac fans will have them!

I figure Mirage & Tango In The Night will follow relatively quickly (somewhere late-summer/early-fall this year)...along with the Buckingham Nicks album, too.

It's the pre-1975 albums that I'm really interested in seeing what Rhino does with 'em. THOSE are the ones I'm kind of skeptical about ever seeing on store shelves.

Who knows, in a decade or so, we might even get to hear the omitted tracks from the originally submitted Another Link In The Chain album on the remastered/re-released Time album.

Does anyone have any idea what the extra tracks are? Are they alternates of songs we have heard or it is possible that there were that many extra songs recorded for Rumours? I wouldn't be surprised if there were 21 extra Tusk tracks, though.

WOW! I wonder how much these things are going to cost, especially the Rumours and Tusk ones, with all those extra tracks. I will definitely be purchasing Tusk, since that's my current favorite, and I'll probably get Rumours, since I don't own it at all -- depending on the price!! "I can't wait, I can't wait!!" Oh, isn't the DVD of the SYW tour coming out this spring also?

Remember, Rhino did the remaster of the Elvis Costello albums and every one of 'em ended up a double album due to the number of bonus tracks.

Plus, Rhino did the first Brian Wilson album...even THAT had 11 bonus tracks (Including "Don't Let Your Body Down", or whatever that song was called that Brian & Lindsey did together.)

So, I think the 18 & 21 numbers are accurate.

I'm thinking that the discs probably won't be all that much...around $16 or $17...maybe even cheaper, depending on where you get them.

They'll probably be really cheap the first week of release at places like Best Buy and Circuit City. Here's hoping!

The most these suckers are going to be is a list price of $24.98, which means a cost of about $16, which means a normal price of probably $19.99 each. That's worst case scenario- Tusk and the White album aside, this is the first reissue of Rumours, which deserved a reissue and expanded edition LONG ago- these aren't going to be pointless catalog dumps (like my company's recent Essential Shawn Mullins/Fishbone/Adam Ant/etc.), these are going to do well- I'd expect to be able to pick these up for around $15 to $20 each, more likely lower than higher.

YAY!!

I'm glad we FINALLY know when these are coming out! I'll be using my Fye (music store) gift certificate I got was Christmas to purchase those.

YEE-HAW!!!

Sounds terrific to me!

When you think of it the way CarneVaca said... 'Tusk' with 41 tracks, it is mind-blowing! Wow!

I think the key is the "alternative takes and demos" comment... which means some of those 41 tracks will probably be three versions of the same song. But I'm certainly not going to be complaining! I'm a total nerd when it comes to alternate takes/mixes, so I'm going to be in Mac Fan heaven!

The "rare demos" really has me wondering if we're actually going to get digitally mastered, pristine copies of songs like "The Dealer."
With the way Stevie holds on to her stuff "until it's ready for the world," it kind of surprises me to think that we may actually be getting demos of songs that are otherwise unavailable commercially.

I can't wait to see a full track-listing for these... which I imagine should be forthcoming!

Like the Chain box set, it wouldnt surprise me at all that any demos that appear on these re-issues belong to a Mr. Buckingham or a Ms. McVie!

But heres to hoping...
