Your right, it is hypocritical. But anyone who makes that comparison about any of our current politicians loses any credibility in my mind...left or right. I completely agree with Bill Maher ....I caught his show last night. He had a "New Rule" about the idiotic comparisons to Hitler...pretty amusing. Ron Silver went toe to toe with Sharpton...good stuff. The good Rev. is politically immature and this was really apparent on Maher's show last night.

Well - all Presidents use AF1 this way. There is some payback by the campaign, but it never is enough to compensate. So, its not like W is doing anything new by campaigning while doing official duties.

Personally, I think the PRes. should lay a wreath at MLK's tomb no matter who the Pres. is. But, I get why people do not want him to do that.

Misusing implies he is doing something illegal, which he is not. I mean I do not like everything W has done, but I do know that he has not broken any law to do it. I mean the Patriot Act and other acts may be rules unconstitutional (hopefully ) - but they are not illegal per se. Moreover, all Presidents do crap like this. Personally, I think the whole judicial appointee confirmation process needs to be revamped. Although I have no clue how they should change it. Yet, despite this clear IMO Const. crisis (courts are not functioning because BOTH sides are behaving like a$$holes and have been doing so since Bush I), the most important Const. consideration is the definition of marriage.

I did not find Al Sharpton immature. I just thought that Silver guy was not the brightest bulb and Al was just over that

I mean I think everyone gets that SH was a jerk, which was basically Silver's only point. Then, Silver just refused to see why people like me are pissed that although they were for the removal of SH, the Bush Admin. blatantly lied about the nuclear stuff to get further support for the regime change. Then, after the fact its "Well awe shucks - we knew that wasn't true, but what the hell, now that we are there, let's just ignore that - we won;t do it again really - I swear." I mean that is some serious lying to ignore in my book.

In the end, I think it is frightening when Issa comes out as the moderate at the table

I found Sharpton to be very intellectual and approachable, where as Silver came across as a self-righteous ass (as always). But I'm a Sharpton whore; the man can do no wrong.

No doubt. However, I don't believe I've ever seen a president go to such lengths as Shrub; it continues to amaze me what that wet fart of a human turd will do for votes.

Well we are in debt more than ever before so I guess I'd like to see the belt tightening measures start at the top.

I don't have a problem with Bush visiting MLK's grave as long as people are allowed to freely protest his visit as opposed to blocking them off behind city buses.

Ron Silver acted like a rabid pitbull. IMO his agenda was quite clear.
Sharpton had valid questions which were never answered by Issa or Silver. Sharpton tried to answer the Brawley question but Silver wouldn't stop attacking him long enough to let him answer. I'd be surprised if Silver was invited back on the show.

In a poll released by The New york Times this morning, President Bush has a 45% disapproval rating. By contrast, Jimmy Carter's was only 37% at the time of his run for reelection. It is the highest diasapproval rating of any of the presidents in the poll.

Silver had what I see all of the time when people are asked to speak publicly on a topic they feel strongly about. His voice was shaking like an amateur. Its okay to be an amateur, but do not be surprised when the pros try to devour you. i mean if you step up to the plate, you better be ready top swing at the ball In this case, Silver was not and was ineffective. As for Sharpton, he is a card, and I think he enjoyed the fodder for his rehtoric that Silver was just feeding him over and over again. Notice Issa did not do it. Why? Issa is a pro. His answers, regardless of point of view, were well thought out and his voice was clear and confident.

Cheney and Scalia duck hunting while the Court was considering Cheney's case. Smacks of fraud to me!
