Not exactly unusual, but pleasant nonetheless. I had an hour or so lazing on the beach in Brighton, here in the UK. A covers band started in a nearby cafe with "Dreams" so languidly and beautifully it made.me realise it really is Stevie's "Albatross". A few songs in and we got "Everywhere". I walked down the prom and another band was belting out. a hard rock version of "Black Magic Woman". In the old days brass bands used to play in English seaside resorts, maybe they still do, but today it was good to hear two eras of the Mac.

A bit of AI "Dreams" (probably barely enough to avoid a copyright strike) in this surreal satirical video from the Crewkerne Gazette. The music starts at 0:45
This might only make some sort of sense to UK ledgies, and even then it's a bit of a head-scratcher. For our American and other friends, Andy Burnham is trying to get elected to parliament for the Labour Party so that he can try and get our current (also Labour) Prime Minister, Keir Starmer's job. The guy whom he calls Keir is in fact Alan Carr, a comedian, and the other guy is Lee Anderson an MP for the Right Wing insurgent Reform UK party, a Trumpish outfit that has a lot of us quite worried. I'm old enough to remember when we had vaguely competent centre-right and centre-left parties here in the UK so we're living in strange times. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uwLkYfBk9yI

It does look like a gay wedding - see at 11 seconds in the video. Gordon Brown, a former Labour Prime Minister is being brought back as an adviser by the current PM.

Earlier in the afternoon I heard Tusk being played on an FM radio station. Ten minutes later they played Hold Me on the same station. Later in the day they played Hold Me on the same station, again.

This week in 1977 Dreams moves up one spot to #3
Sirius-XM American Top 40 countdown with Casey Kasem Casey was talking about how Chris and John divorced and Stevie and Lindsey were never married but lived together as common law husband and wife and also divorced. Rumours was just recently released and all of the drama was being released too. We know there was no divorce proceeding with Stevie and Lindsey but it was fun to listen how everyone was learning about the band and this soap opera Rumours.

In mine too! There was a local radio that got a deal and broadcast it on weekends. I remember the Long-Distance Dedications with nice stories. I never heard or can't remember any LDD with a Fleetwood Mac (or member) song, does anyone?

When Stevie, Chris or Lindsey would release a solo album in the 80s as a teen I would listen to the countdowns each week to chart their songs and listen to any trivia about them when their song was announced.

This week ending June 12, 1976 American Top 40 with Casey Kasem Sirius-XM
Rhiannon (Will you ever win) hits its peak at #11. Its funny the record company must of thought the name Rhiannon was going to be weird so they added "Will you ever win" on the 45 single and on the charts. Post 1976 I dont think anyone referred to it as Will You Ever Win again. The album Fleetwood Mac hanging low in the top 10 at #8. In 3 months Say You Love Me would drag the album to #1 removing Frampton Comes Alive from the top place. The Rolling Stones "Fool to Cry" kept Rhiannon from #10. 2 sitcom themes on the charts: Happy Days was in top 10 and Welcome Back Kotter theme was climbing just behind Rhiannon. Silly Love Songs by Wings was #1 and the Rolling Stones album Black and Blue was #1 When I was looking at the 1976 charts today so interesting. Back in those days there were hardly any videos and unless the artist put them on the album cover you never knew what they looked like. Fleetwood Mac was out for 14 months before hitting #1. That would never happen today. Peter Frampton Comes Alive was #1 for 3 different times in 1976. It jumped right back to #1 after Fleetwood Mac's one week. Once Stevie Wonder released Songs In The Key of Life in early October it was #1 the rest of the year. What a year for music. The artists that had #1 albums in 1976: Chicago, The Eagles, Peter Frampton, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney and Wings, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder

Sirius-Xm American Top 40 with Casey Kasem this week ending June 23, 1979
Gold by John Stewart and Stevie moves up 5 notches to #19. It was the summer of 1979. Disco ruling the charts but acts like Van Halen, Peter Frampton, Cheap Trick and Kiss churning out hits. Gold was a sneak peak at the upcoming Tusk album. Stevie was brought in to sing on Midnight Wind which charted after Gold. However they had some studio fun and Stevie sang along to Gold and it sounded so good they kept it. Midnight Wind is very Sisters Of The Moon with Lindsey. Donna Summer had #1 with Hot Stuff and #5 Bad Girls The Pittsburgh Pirates were a sleeper team that got hot later in the summer and fall to come back from 3 games down to win the World Series later that year. I was about to start 4th grade. My favorite hit at the time was "Makin It" by David Naughton. It was a theme to the sitcom "Makin It" that was cancelled really fast. Casey mentioned on the countdown that the show was cancelled but the theme song kept moving up the charts. Who remembers the intro with the guy eating the soft serve ice cream from the machine to his mouth?
