Some fans are posting pictures of her recent Austin concert. If it were true that there was a new album and it was coming soon, she should have said something. The posts I have seen don't say anything about it.

I see three possible things happening at the moment:
1. There's a completed album - but nobody will give her a deal/contract, because it's as cringy as "Show Them The Way" etc. etc. 2. Her PR team is trying to crank up the vibes/anticipation to create the biggest possible "splash" they can. 3. #1 is true and they are hyping it up (#2) to attract attention from record companies. Also - do any of her gen z fans even know who Vanessa Carlton is?

I am so disappointed in these couple of shows she has done. Nothing is different. Same hair, clothes, ugly tennis shoes. Same band same backdrops. Same setlist. Same, Same, Same. So why even go on tour. Doesn't the band get bored? And it seems that people are coming to the shows. I just can't anymore. I hope there is a new album. She said at the end of her first concert that she was busier now than she was at the age of 32, which would have been Bella Donna era. I find that hard to believe. I guess the documentary and maybe a new album and also the Practical Magic 2 movie is coming out. Maybe there is a few Stevie songs. Her voice just isn't the same anymore though and I'm not sure how I feel about new things from her. I feel like it's time for the book she's been writing forever to finally come to be.

If they are well paid, that reduces or compensates for the boredom. And if people are coming to the shows, there is considerable money coming in. Or maybe they are like those long-running Broadway show actors who play the same role every night and enjoy it, who knows.
As I said in other thread, if they (any band member) release new material, good for them, but I no longer expect anything special. Sure I'll be curious to listen to it, but I'm sure I won't buy it.

Her 14 song set has kept me away from seeing her live for a long, long time. In the past 10-15 years she's really found a way to do enough talking to stretch a 14 song set to almost a two hour show. In reality, she's been doing 75-80 minutes of music charging 200+ bucks for average, back of house lower level seats.

But to spend so many minutes talking, no way! It feels like a rip-off, it would make me want to demand my money back, especially now that concerts are so expensive. I haven't been to one in years.

That book falls into the category of the Rhiannon movie she's never going to make. She actually told an audience somewhere in the last ten years that she decided not to write that book after all.

I really enjoy reading autobios. Although I know they can have very biased arguments or errors because memory often fails, or even deliberate lies, they are very interesting (as long as they're not a collection of gossip). I've read Chaplin, Elton, Celia Cruz, former presidents, writers, and well, you know who. ![]() But in Stevie's case, it would be a best seller, no doubt. But there are so many contradictions and controversies surrounding her arguments that they don't sound like accidental errors and have caused so much unease. So it's probably for the best that she decided not to write her memoirs.

If Stevie doesn't like that Lindsey edited out multiple verses of Sara and changing tenses to make her songs a more commercial product, she sure wouldn't like a editor taking out parts of her life that comes across as babbling to most people in a memoir. I would think that there would still be some interesting parts to make it worth reading though.

The problem is...there is literally a list of people a mile long that were a big part of launching her solo career so any kind of revisionist claims she wants to make in a book will be quickly disproven across the entire music community. She knows she has a good thing going with the existing amount of BS she chooses to shill, a book would open the door to make her look bad because she knows she can't do it in a balanced way. It's funny - for decades she always spoke to there being too many people still alive that she didn't want to offend by writing a book. The truth is, theres too many people still alive to call her out on her BS. That's why she hasn't written it.

Yeah, she's nuttier than a fruitcake. And I truly believe, that she believes her own lies.

Nicely summarizes Stevie’s vast network of friends!
Good news about the album — it’s a go. I’m in kind of a weird position for myself after fifty years: I’m more interested in it lyrically than musically. I want to see which former flames get the dirt dished on ’em. Look for some kind of contribution from Lindsey, too, like a guitar part or a backup vocal.
