But when I watch the old interviews and shows where she is high as a kite, happy, funny, moved on stage like she was an ethereal being and magical all rolled into one bundle of beautiful cosmic energy I say to myself that is the Stevie I love.

That Stevie is gone and never coming back. Whoever is guiding her to do the crack dance and wear ramen noodle hair and ramble on stage like a three year old in need of attention is not doing her any favors.

I find myself finally letting go. After 50 years, I just can not watch this anymore…something has faded away.
I feel exactly the same about the whole band. Christine died, Lindsey fired, John retired..... there's just nothing left to cling to. Anything moving forward is just plain sad.

RIP to the band of my life.

This article from People says the album is coming out on her birthday, May 26, 2026. Not sure how accurate it is.

it makes me sad too. she really was trying to get herself together, she went to rehab at least twice and even if it didn't totally work, she definitely improved-- heard she and john were both trying to cut back after his cancer, she really wanted both of them to be healthier and certainly didn't want to be drinking a lot in front of him. also heard she was into the green shakes and alternative health things (sort of what jenn tini and her sister talk about on their insta...) and this may not have encouraged her to see "real doctors" as much as she should have.

her mother died quite young but her dad lived until about 90ish, so idk if genetics played a part but all those years of smoking prob didn't help anything. she'd been dealing with awful back pain for years and was getting treatment for that (and i think still had some issues w pain pills because of that pain) but she didn't know how bad things were until it was too late to do anything about it. I heard she (along w many of us) struggled with isolation and loneliness during covid, and then was sooo excited to be busy with the auction, she put a lot of time into that and was really looking forward to it. She was supposed to have gone to a 'before auction gathering' type thing that was scheduled for nov 30th (the day she died) but called julien a week before to say she couldn't make it.

part of me is glad it didn't drag on too long... but still sad that she was gone so quickly, and sad for the few people around her who loved her who must have felt so helpless while trying to just be there for her.

i'm in the 'no need for FM to do any reunion' camp... all this talk of how the other 4 'should reunite to honor chris' sort of annoys me. let it go. it's done now.

You know, I thought(in recent decades) that major artists were required to have complete physicals, before sponsors and promoters would lay many millions on the dotted line. Maybe they're not that thorough, after all?

I mean sh1t, if I could get a full body scan for free, I'd be doing it, especially after 60 or so. If I had 100 million, I'd do one every year, just to try and catch something before it catches me. The one thing in life you can never buy, is your health.

Couldn't find any other recent article about it, apart from those issued last year, and this one from february, though it didn't mention a release date.

https://people.com/where-are-fleetwo...s-now-11941406

It's interesting to know about their new material anyway, but as I already said in other threads, I'm not excited about any new album from Mac members. Of course, I wish them all the best.

Well, actually there is something I do like whenever the possibility of new albums from any of them arises. Activity picks up again here at The Ledge.

i don't think full body scans would be included in the physicals, though...? maybe bloodwork, a stress test and that sort of thing. i mean i assume john had a physical before their 2012 tour but still ended up going to the hospital in berlin and being diagnosed w colon cancer. MRI's aren't cheap-- i just had one last week and it was over $10,000. i prob have to pay over $800 for it but i was kind of relieved to be having one just for my peace of mind. i heard chris had x-rays for back pain but i assume no MRIs, which would have shown cancer. but yeah, she had the $ to do it if she wanted. i guess it's human nature to tend to NOT want to imagine anything is cancer.

In the UK we have a health service which is always moaned about but is free.
I had an MRI for my spine, which being a wuss, I couldn’t finish. ( I had claustrophobia)
So, a seated open one, was found, 50 miles away…I attended that and it was fine..
I have spinal stenosis which has been treated and I’m fine….for free.

I developed severe vertigo in 2018, and was actually having my legs go out from beneath me, after getting oxygen deprived while swimming, and did 2 MRIs, and don't remember them costing anything. I think insurance covered them completely. But after a couple months, "most" of my symptoms had disappeared, so then insurance refused to allow(pay for)any more. So they never did find out what
caused it.

But yeah, I think most people just want to assume there's nothing serious(especially cancer) going on.

that's true, i forgot about your country's lovely health care system. it's kind of a nightmare over here, esp now thanks to the orange idiot telling us the fed govt can't be responsible for paying for health care. people can lose their houses because they have to pay hospital bills. anyway.. i was on my stomach for my mri so i actually didn't feel too claustrophobic! wish chris had had one for her back...

The very last one I did, was in a brand new machine, and(I was on my back) had mirrors above your face, angled at 45 degrees. I was literally watching cars parking in the parking lot, during the entire procedure. It pretty much took all the claustrophobia away.

So the People article about the album coming out next month was wrong. I’m not surprised, it seemed weird that the news would come out that way. Anyways, Stevie’s reps say it’s not:

Aaagh….just thinking about it, makes me feel very strange..
I never knew I was claustrophobic.
Luckily, just an hour away was an MRI machine I could sit up in..and was open..

American hospitals price gouge its citizens… they care more about profit than care… $10,000 for an MRI is ridiculous. So many Americans do hospital tourism and travel to Thailand for any medical …one fly there, get an MRI at bumrungrad, stay at a nice hotel, all for less than you paid for your $800 deductible. bumrungrad international hospital is one of the top hospitals in the world (many of the doctors are trained in the US) They also give you test your results within 30 minutes… none of these stupid games that American hospitals play with waiting for results— they usually won’t give test results at the hospital — they tell Americans they can get their results at theirs doctor office in a few days (so your doctor can charge you for an office visit). bumrungrad has transparent pricing listed on their web site. No insurance approvals/denials. Just pay and go. They even list the prices online for heart surgery, hip replacement, cancer treatments everything. No waiting in an ER. Everything is fast, professional and easy. The hospital rooms and service is like a four star hotel. I can never understand why Americans put up with the BS of dealing with American hospitals which focus on the “business model” when they can just get on a plane and fly to Thailand. Most sick people already paying huge deductibles…for a $10,000 or $20,000 major surgery deductible you can get a lot more bang for your buck as a medical tourist.
