Oh, that's probably right. What I do remember is that some of us understood she meant her Mac songs. SYW had been released the previous year and then she recorded ITM. Perhaps our theories went too far, since she had left the band looking for peace and quiet, and then she released an album? We didn't yet know if she would tour. She didn't, but if she had, it would have contradicted her reasons for leaving Fleetwood Mac. I remember that "padding" phrase generated a brainstorm that year.

I think Christine is well chilled throughout..and her Brummie humour….of slight sarcasm, and self depreciation is all there.

I also think she is slightly …tipsy…throughout.

Lol I think she may have been . She always liked a buzz and was definitely still drinking then.

That comment about the frothy self deception was weird, she didn't know what the hell to make of it . I didn't get a sense of bitterness towards the group though...? Maybe she was just bitter/frustrated about her own situation.

I think she left wanting to "retire" but quickly realized she was bored to tears. The marriage was a disaster and ed was gone not too long after she moved there. And after that new relationship fell through, she was full of inspiration to do something musical but couldn't follow the album up w much besides that TV interview and a few others... and after she sort of went downhill w the drinking and isolation and agoraphobia. I don't think she had any thoughts of "rejoining" at that point but I also think she wasn't particularly thrilled w her circumstances, either.

But then again maybe its just me. When people pass away sometimes the context is lost. But when this interview made it to youtube many moons ago I found it awkward. To be fair Chris did not want to do promotions for the album yet she agreed talking to this woman. I often wondered why Chris would not reveal the meaning behind the title. She was a firm NO.
She reads it to her and asks her what it means, and neither of them knew. I found it somewhat funny, and thought Chris handled it like she always does.
The interviewer didn't know what it meant either. I felt they were kind of making fun of the review.

I've watched the ITM footage a million times. I always felt it was chill and laid back, just like the album. I mean, she's on a scooter in some of the footage!! haha

I know she didn't want to travel or do anything with it, but I'm not seeing that here. She looks like her normal chill self here.

The awkward part I felt is the intro where they ask about the "ladies". That for sure gives me an "awkward" vibe.

Agreed. Tipsy and chill is what I get. She's always been slightly self deprecating. Sarcastic is a norm, too.

And.......... She never likes her solo albums.
Whereas, LB's always making the best music he's ever made ever.

I think she had a lot of joy writing and producing this album. I suspect after the "production" was completed and it was time to get down to the "business" of everything, she hurt her back and fell back into isolation. I also think promoting the music and/or the thought of touring was not going to be cathartic in getting over the "new chap". As opposed to "writing about him" which was very mentally healthy for her. I also love how she has the songs in an "arc" of a relationship. If you read the titles of the songs out loud, it all makes sense. Clever Christine.

But, as I say, the thought of the 'business' probably overwhelmed her again, as it did after the Dance. We do know she started heavily drinking again after this, and wouldn't even join FM for a "one off" let alone re-joining.
