Default Checked in as Fleetwood Mac

I’m listening to a programme, called Desert island discs. A celebrity chooses songs to take, when he is stranded…on the Island
Ronnie Wood of the Stones is choosing, (lots of blues)
He was prior to The Stones, in The Faces with Rod Stewart…and they had a reputation when touring, of damaging Hotel rooms…they were banned at Hotels in the UK..(1969ish)

So they used to check in as Fleetwood Mac…

The Stones did this all the time in the 1970s. They would check in as Fleetwood Mac and trash the hotel room. Fleetwood Mac would then be billed for the damage. Mick talks about this in his first book. So they may have used the Fleetwood Mac name to avoid being banned from hotels but they still trashed the rooms .

Yes, there is an article I read in the past where he mentions that. He told also that he joined the Stones by chance, at a party where Mick Taylor just announced he would leave the band, and Jagger looked at Ron and said, ‘Oh my God, what am I gonna do? Would you join?’

Faces were so wild they had to adopt false identities

Ronnie Wood is such a great character. He’s very grounded. Would love to have a beer with him.
I understand prior to his joining the Stones there was some consideration given to Danny Kirwan. I don’t know how much serious consideration this was given, but all in all I guess they made the best choice. Ronnies been a great Stone.

I've always heard that they hired him because of his personality. They were tired of difficult guys, and knew he'd be easy to get along with.

Rod Stewart mentions this in his Carpool Karaoke session with James Corden. It got heavy laughs from the audience.

Oh really, I’m not a big lover of James Corden so didn’t watch many of his Carpool progs….
But I’ll search for Rod’s episode…

It’s a good episode. When he and James are at a stop light, another driver and his companion recognize Rod and it’s a very sweet moment.

Yes, it’s very good…Rod Stewart looked good for 70 . Hair looks fabulous.
And they sing one of my favourite songs…First cut is the deepest..by Cat Stevens, Yusuf.

I do like the James Corden episodes I have seen. My favorite is Paul's, specially when he sings in a pub to the surprise of the audience. Well, I don't know how "surprising" or planned it was, since there were certainly security measures, but it was pretty cool.

Think I watched them all. Loved the one with Michelle Obama. Loved the one with Adele. And I actually loved the ones with Justin Beiber. Think he did two. I got a different perspective of Justin Beiber after that. Yes, the Macca one was epic.
