Ain't that the truth! Saved Tango, White album got rolling from the first FM single, wrote 2 singles from Rumours, one used in the inauguration. Added ALAYF to the Greatest Hits.

Christine easily had the best ear for a melody/hook of anyone in the band, which is why shes probably often regarded (but not often enough!) as the best pop writer in the band.

She was such a SMART songwriter. She knew how best to exploit her own voice without straining. She kept it simple and got maximum effect from that. Yes, Lindsey helped (as he did with Stevie) but songs she wrote and produced without him have that same irresistible glow.

She was a great pianist. Great singer. Great team player. Miss her everyday.

Don Henley said in an interview that the secret to recording his vocals, was to keep him at the top of his range. That that's where the sweet spot was...

That's great when you're 35 or 40. What do you do with those songs when you're 70 or 75?

Well, for Don you apparently start lip syncing Desperado. There's some pretty compelling evidence on youtube.

Wow. I'd love a link.

It's time for them to hang it up, too. Idk why these fossils want to go out and embarrass themselves when they're knocking on 80.

It's not like they need the money and those tours have to be getting old at this point. Is it really any fun for them at this point?

I only watched the shortest one, and I'm still not 100% convinced... that said, I've said for years that I don't believe all those choruses are live. I don't believe that a bunch of 75yo dudes can still sound like that.

Yeah, it's definitely a mixed bag. I agree, at the very least they are definitely boosting their own vocals on the choruses by singing along to a pre-recorded track.

They've probably figured out a convincing way to have an engineer punch in recorded versions of the high-notes on specific songs as well.
