Default Live 77 or Live 82?

So we got 2 live albums in these last two years. "Rumours Live", the August 1977 Inglewood concert released in 2023. And the "Mirage Tour '82", the October 1982 Inglewood concert, released this year. Or so the descriptions of both say.

Definately the Rumours show or any of the Tusk, Live or 75 shows that have been released. The Mirage show is really weak and has been released too many times already.

The Rumours tour is the band at its best. Tusk tour is close behind. Mirage is fantastic too. I would say Rumours is the best. But by Mirage we get more variety of songs so that is the appeal to me. But songs like Rhiannon and Gold Dust Woman, Oh Daddy and Over My Head, etc where never played anywhere near as good than on the Rumours tour.

For me, Mirage was the peak of their EVERYTHING. Their looks, their voices, and they were still partying their asses off.

I agree, it was very focused and intense.

I can’t choose which one I like better. It might come down to the mastering. Both have flaws (it’s hard to keep Christine’s 1977 pianet at the suitable level, but they do it on “Dreams”). I’ll say that the 1977 CD is more pleasant to turn up the volume on without getting assaulted with gain.

Rhino should dig up the December 1979 shows in Inglewood with the Trojan Marching Band on “Tusk” to make a perfect trilogy of Los Angeles releases covering six years.

I love listening to Rumours versions because I'm not as familiar with them as Mirage. But, they seemed to be really gelling/competing in the Mirage live versions. And fast tempos!!

Exactly. The best versions of Over My Head, Rhiannon, Oh Daddy and Gold Dust Woman are from the Rumours tour. You are correct, they really were tight and gelling. They were firing on all cylinders. This is why I believe many of the songs from this tour made the 1980 Live Album.
